Just got the entertainment book and need some guidance as to good restaurants for families that are in the book. Any restaurant, my older child is godd about trying new foods, as for my little one, as long as there is some kind of cheese, we'll be okay. Any one have information or suggestions about this??

Not sure what's in the book but my kids love to go to Tony Romas(great ribs) & Logan's Steakhouse (they have peanuts & you throw the shells on the floor). Logans also has great food and wonderful yeast rolls.

These are very family friendly places and not bad in price either.

Disnee Dad Says..................................It also depends on where you are staying. If you are near crossroads eat there, if you are in Kissimee, eat there. Time is money. It seems every family style restaurant has some in Orlando, except Old Spaghetti Factory. They would make a killing there, but nooo.

We like Olive Garden, and Red Lobster , for lunch, dinner can get pricey but lunch is not bad.

Remember, time is money. It's different for everyone, how far, what level of service etc. But count on spending 50 cents a minute every minute you are awake for your trip! Puts everything in a whole new light!

jungle Jims at the Crossroads plaza is a good family place but don't know if it is in the entertainment book. I got coupons for a free appetizer off the coupons ala carte website for there.

Ponderosia (sp?) restaurants are everywhere! They are very reasonable! They are all over Florida but not up here in NE!

Another vote for Jungle Jim's (and yes, there is a coupon in the Entertainment book).

The jungle theme is cute... food is kind of like a Chili's. They have lots of specialty burgers & desserts. They are in the CroosRoads shopping center (also a McDonald's and a TGI Friday's there).

You may like Sizzler or Golden Corral. Both are definetly inexpensive and family oriented. They are not as nice as Olive Garden, though. It depends on what yu are looking for. I am looking forward to trying Steak & Shake, which is supposed to be near Crossroads. I will also be trying Baskervilles, in one of hte DTD hotels. There is a Buy 1, Get 1 coupon in the book. If you want quick drive through, we really liked Checkers, which I think may have been on I-drive. They had hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and hamburgers.

For those who have been to Jungle Jims--

The coupon from Coupons ala carte is for a free appetizer with 2 purchased entrees. Are the appetizers good and/or large enough to be a meal for an older child (or maybe even me--LOL!)? Most interested in the nachos or quesadillas...thanks for any info. :D

Our family tried Joe's Crab Shack last May and everyone had a good time. DD wants to go back during our december trip. This isn't very far from Crossroads.

Pizzeria Uno's at the Crossroads!! Plenty of cheese on the pizza!
:D

I second Pizzeria Uno's. It is our favorite restaurant in the area. One of them, in Dec., had a program where kids ate for their weight. We did find some coupons although I don't remember which coupon magazine they were in. :earsgirl:

We had the spudmania appetizer last October and it was large and great. Someone at another table had the nachos at lunch and unless there was a different menu I guess it was the appetizer and it is on our list for this year's trip. As my daughter said that could be meal in itself. I had printed out the card and asked the server about it but he said they didn't know anything about it so the next time I printed the coupon page and had no trouble.

What is the coupon in the entertainment book good for if anyone knows? We have two trips and I know we will be eating there at least 3 times between them.

I appreciate the info--I was also wondering about printing out the card vs. the page, so you answered that question as well. Sounds like a great restaurant to try! :D

I'm not sure which coupon (s) you're interested in so here's the info for the coupons mentioned so far in this thread:

www.entertainment.com

This is a coupon book you order for a particular city--the Orlando coupon book would have coupons specific to Orlando, as well as some coupons usable nationally. The current coupon book is valid until sometime in the fall (maybe end of Oct?) if it's still available, but the new coupon book will be out in the early fall (sometime in Aug. or Sept.?) and is good until fall of 2004. It's possible that there may be different Orlando coupons in the new book. Perhaps someone else could post more specific info.

www.couponsalacarte.com

This is a website that has a few coupons you can print out for free, including the Jungle Jim's coupon mentioned. Click on Orlando and then restaurants to get a list of what's available.

Hope this helps---good luck! :D

Hi, you can buy the entertainment coupon book at www.entetainment book.com for the bargain price of $10 at the moment. It is a must if you are staying off site!

The Pizzaria Uno on 192 is the one that does the kids pay what they weigh promo. My kids were 28 cents, 38 cents and 50 cents! That cannot even be beat. Some differences depending on the wait staff, though. The first guy included milk as the beverage with the kids meal and the second said it was only soda pop. ( Didn't know that until after we ordered the milks, but oh well.) And the first guy included dessert and the second one didn't. Even still, it was a great deal both times!

We also really like Jungle Jim's at Crossroads. There is a Chilli's just up the road and right next to Macaroni Grill, both of which are great and Crossroads has a Friday's too. Good kids menu there.
