Family Portraits - where, how?

Hi everyone

I have noticed some really great family photos that DISers have put on this site. I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas of where to have a Family Portrait taken at Disney.

I know they take photos as they come in the gates, but can you tell how the quality is? Is there somewhere on Main Street MK that takes more formal portraits. As well, I have noticed one that I think is taken at Chef Mickey's. Can anyone tell me about that.

Any info you have on cost would be great too.

We have dinner at Chef Mickeys every year. We have a collection of 6 pictures in front of the plate. As soon as you check in they send your family over to have a picture taken in front of this huge plate. Then half way through your dinner they come back to you with a picture package. We buy it every year.....What a great memory it is......

We had ours done at the Kodak building in Epcot.

We bought ours at the Hoop Dee Do.
Same deal as Chef Mickey's.....you check in, they usher you off to have your pic snapped, and half way through dinner they come by with the package that you can purchase if you like.

we had family portraits taken last year through wdw photography. are these the ones you are referring to? checjk your PM. otherwise, i agree, just about anyplace will do the family portrait. we have had one taken at donald's breakfastasarous. that is a little different.

if you want superb portraits, they take them in the Grand Floridian. We didn't have them taken, but noticed them as we lurked in the lobby before going on the beach for the EWP. They are pricey.

Where in the Grand Floridian do they take pictures? I'm taking my dd to the Disney Princess Tea Party and would love a picture or two! Thanks in advance for any information you can share.
