Hello All -
I have been having a VERY DIFFICULT time finding out where and how to have our family picture taken while we are at WDW. I know that Downtown Disney used to have a place that we could do that at and I think we can have them done at MK but I would like to know what package prices are and what the packages include. Please keep in mind that we don't want to spend a fortune but we do want to have a family portrait done and since my DD is turning three I was hoping to get her picture taken. Does anyone have any ideas or information they could share with me? I have done several online searches and have come up with NOTHING. I am very frustrated by the lack of info. out there on this. I wouldn't think it would be this hard. I'm trying to budget this into our upcoming trip but I have no idea of the cost.
Please can someone out there help me?

You can have a wonderful picture of your family taken right on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. Cindy's castle will be in the background. So cool! They will give you a ticket to pick up later in the day. Price are very reasonable--about $12 I think for a 5x7, 8x10's are under $20.00. I think they do have packages available but not required. You won't be sorry!

Something else to think about--although not a picture, the silhoettes done around DW are a great keepsake and cost only $7 or $8. We have had these done several times over the years and plan to up date ours next month. Enjoy!

I was just looking for this info last night but had no luck! Would love to have some professional photos done in the park.

dkrause,
Thanks for the information. Is there a portrait studio at Magic Kingdom so that we could take a posed picture with different Disney backgrounds? I heard about this one time but I don't remember where. It seems like it's right on Main Street near where they take the pictures you were talking about. I think it's in the place where you pick the pictures up that you were talking about. I wish I could find a website with this kind of info.

You may be right about that but I'm not sure. You could always e-mail DW through their web site.
Best of luck!

i think all of the parks have an area off the photo pickup shop where you can have a photo taken in front of a disney backdrop. I've seen some where they add characters to the photo after so it looks like they were posing with you.

there used to be a studio at Downtown Disney where you could have a portrait with Mickey, but I think that closed down when they built once upon a toy

That's EXACTLY where it is!!:)

Go into the Kodak building/Tony's and head for the back, left hand side - kind of behind all the photo album/scrapbooking supply displays...

You can get your pics done "on" the surf board with Lilo and Stitch...and soooooo many other choices, I can't even remember;)

Get them done in the am, when everyone is "clean and fresh";);)
Pkg prices vary, but I *think* the cheapest was in the $25 range...?????

Have Fun!!!

mbb,
Thank You! I appreciate it. I am going to check that out. It sounds like we can have some really fun pictures taken. I thought that was a studio but I have never really checked it out before. I am going to try to contact them now in some way to see what they offer and if I need to make some sort of reservations.

We always get our family pics done at the Kodak building on Main Street, we always go first thing in the am and have never had a wait or crowd or anything like that. We always choose the one with Cind castle in the background, this time it had the year at the bottom, and fireworks in the graphics. You can also have your picture made/taken in Epcot at the end of the Journey into Imagination ride, there are all of these computer stations where you can take your pic and morph it and send it to yourself or friends/family in an email, you can also purchase copies of this. The Prices of the regular photos are fairly reasonable by Disney standards, but it gets a little pricey when you add your pic to some of their accessorie type things, like the lead crystal things, they were upwards of 100-200. If you are interested in a more proffessional portaiture, you can hire the Disney photographers, but keep in mind they are not cheap, not sure how you would go about getting in touch with WDW photography, you might have to get with the Weddings dept. It would be great to have a proffessional family portrait session at the Castle, but I know I can't afford that! Good luck, and remember say cheese!

not sure if it's still there but

in MGM over by the honey i shrunk the kids is a warehouse type shop ( sorry can't remember what it is called )
there are bathrooms over there and a place to eat (counter service) any way in the warehouse type place was a photo spot where you pose and then they add your picture to any of the background you select

we did the castle backdrop in 2000 came out really good and NO LINE which was great

Thanks for the additional ideas. I don't think we could afford a professsional photography session either but I will be checking it out when we get to the MK. I will try to remember to report back here with some of the prices so we all know. --Renee::MinnieMo

Some of the restaurants will take a family pic before you are seated to eat. I know Chef Mickey's and Hoop Dee Doo do this, there are probably others, too.:)

In addition to what I have previously posted here I also wanted to tell you that the Disney photographers do a honeymoon package for married couples which is in the parks, and they take lots of pics, I am sure you could call them and ask if they would do this for a family, but still it is $295, not thousands of dollars but definitely not $25-30, might not be for everyone but I at least wanted to tell you all about it.
Have a lovely trip
Kim

Thank you for sharing the information. I'd rather not spend that much on photographs not that it wouldn't be money well spent. However, if the sitting fee is$275 for our small family then I can only imagine what the pictures cost. I would love to have that done BUT it's just not in our budget. Thanks again for letting me know though. It's really not that bad compared to what our photographers charge here.

We had a family portrait setting done by Disney Event Photography when we went in May. Ours were taken in the Flower and Garden Festival in the World Showcase at Epcot prior to it opening... It took about 1.5 hours, I think, total, and the pics turned out great.

It was expensive, but for us, it was the only thing we could do... Mom is a CM now, brother lives with her, the rest of us are spread all over Texas, and we planned a big trip together to the World, so it was a once in a lifetime chance to all be together!

They are the only portrait/photography group at Disney, other than just snapping your pic at one of hte many photo opp places throughout hte park.

=)
