Family on Facebook

my mum keeps friend requesting me and i keep ignoring it. I speak to her everyday and she would constantly be asking me stuff about why I this/that on there.

sometimes a bit of distance is good :-)

I'm not keen on being exclusive, although I'm not against deleting her I think FB means different things to different users and what you might not find offensive, others might.
I have found to my cost that FB is a very strange place. I generally keep my status updates to everybody but sometimes I do resrict what some individuals see. There is a lot of unrest in my fathers family and as he has been dead since '88 I'm glad of the contact buts its very complicated. Therefore, sometimes I restrict photos of events that might cause trouble with the other half of the family.
I have recently "grouped" my FB friends ie. ex-work colleagues, school mums etc.
We have quite a few friends and family around the world and it is great for keeping in touch with them.
Another example is that I have posted a folder of holiday pics from our Florida trip of the last three weeks. I have excluded them from "DIS" friends as I'll probablt do a trip report and I don't want to give it all away beforehand.

Oops...that's me gone on the next cull then :lmao: All I've done for the last 4 days is complain of this sore chest I have :rotfl: Sorry Kenny!

I promise that normal status updates shall resume very soon...then you'll be bored of hearing all about F1

Oh no Rachel - you're a Disser so you are perfectly safe. You can cough sneeze and splutter all you like and you will survive :goodvibes

Although I do tend to hide you when F1 is on and I am stuck at work :lmao:

Slightly off topic but... I can't have a cull on FB in case I delete some Dissers who I speak to on here regularly.:rotfl: I don't always know 'real names'/Dis names and I've got confused over time. Mine is easy on FB, as my real name is in my signature - Juliette - so if you have a Juliette friend on FB, it's probably me!

Phew, thank goodness for that! :goodvibes Glad to know I'm not going anywhere on your FB clear outs

It also means that on every other weekend, me, Mandy & Jackie are all on 'hide' until the race has been watched :lmao: Brilliant! We're all usually sat there together commenting about Jenson & Lewis...I love those chats on F1 weekends, none of my 'regular' friends are into F1 like that, so it's great to have some people to chat along with

And to OP, so sorry I've gone off track!

If you're stuck on hiding your posts from certain people and you want to always hide posts from them, this is the screen you need to do it.
Squiggle.jpg

Click on account, privacy settings, custom, customise settings then in posts by me (or whatever else you want to hide) choose custom and type the names of the people you want to hide.
Hope this helps. :flower3:

Thanks to everyone for taken time to reply :goodvibes

I am now 99% sure I will delete SiL, like I said before I haven't seen her in years and could be another few years until our paths cross. :yay:

Love all the comments and reasons why some people get deleted on your facebooks and said SiL is really bad for the Aaaaarrgghh and Guess What status.
