Family of the day.

I'm sure this has been done before but I can't find it. Who here has been picked as family of the day at any of the parks? I LOVE the stories! Some pics would be cool to.

We were picked to open the MK on Sunday, 9/2/12. It was an amazing experience!! Our morning was very similar to the PP's. We arrived a little after 7:30 am for a 9:00 am opening. Were the only ones at the turnstyles!! The only other guests were standing in the Breakfast line waiting to head in. We weren't there for very long when a CM came over to talk to my DH. She wanted it to be a surprise to the rest of us but I knew what was going on. LOL We had come super early just to try and be picked. I was so glad that we actually dragged ourselves out of bed that morning and for once were quick in getting ready. That doesn't usually happen.

We were taken to the magical bench where were sat for awhile. Then we headed to the fire truck for our personal tour of Main Street where a Photopass photographer was waiting to take our pictures in different spots. Shortly before 9 am, we headed up into the train station to meet Scoop Sanderson and the rest of the dancers. Were given strict instructions on when to walk through the train, when to wave, nod at Mickey, etc. I even had a line...Good Morning!! LOL

Right afterwards, we headed down the ramp and had a quick meet and greet with the Fairy Godmother before going under the train station and taking pictures with Scoop. Our DD's both received pins and special fast passes and we were also given a voucher for a free photo.

Best day ever!!!

Ours was similar to strmtroopr in June 2011, except for we hung out with the Mayor after the fire truck ride, and we didn't meet any characters. Yes, the characters stood up there with us, but we hardly had a chance to even see who was there- we stepped out on cue, and at the end they were gone. I do know Mickey was next to me and that's it. Afterwards, they took a few more pics of us against blank depot walls- by that time I was ready to get started hoofing it over to Rapunzel and Flynn though! It was awesome, but it would have been really neat if you got to hang with the characters in Toontown like they used to do.
