Just curious for when I win a big dream with international travel... ...but do I need to decide which of my kids to leave home, or will Disney work with larger families to make arrangements to suit them??

I haven't read anything from anyone with a larger family who has won, but I know it must have happened to someone by now...don't you think?

Has anyone heard anything?

We are a family of six and we always joke about who would get left at home if we ever won any of the trips for four! My guess is that they would let you pay the difference, but I agree with you, seems like someone out there must have had this issue before.

I've wondered the same thing a few times. I would just assume that the winner would have to pay the extra.

when someone wins castle stay thre alowed to take 5 outher people with them room only sleeps 6, reports on here about cindies meal is if there are more you can take them but you have to pay for the extra people.plus outher people have joined them throughout the day
so yes they would alow to to pay for an extra person, the night stay has to be 6 or less due to occupancy rules

I would think it would depend on the resort you will be staying at...most only accommodate 4...however, I am sure for a "pretty penny" they would allow you to upgrade your resort :lmao: and add a few guests.

My Sil won a Disney trip for 4 a few years ago...she also is a family of 5 and they let her pay for the extra person.:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Thank you for asking this question. We are also a family of five and laughed reading the prizes and wondered who would be left behind if we won the trip around the world or the cruise. :lmao: Wishful thinking. :cloud9: Maybe, they need to extend the "average" family to be 3.5 kids. We know more and more people with 3 + kids. :dance3:

:woohoo: That's good to know. I'd hate for someone to win a great prize and then have to exclude one of their "immediate" family members.

We are a family of 2 (well, 5 if you count our extremely spoiled pooches), and I wonder who we would take with us if we won! Any takers??:)

I have won two WDW trips (2005 trip was won thru Alamo car rental and a 2006 trip was won thru McDonalds).

Both trips were coordinated through the Disney Contests department. Thus, i would think that the YOMD contests would be similar. So I'll give you my relevant experience:

Both trips were for four people. Airfare for four. Four nights in one room at a WDW resort. Complimentary park tickets for four for four days.

We were allowed to pay for more people, and for longer times. We had six people, so we paid for two additional airfares.

We were allowed to choose any standard WDW resort room (no concierge-level unit or unit with a kitchen). Apparently, the Fort Wilderness cabins (which sleep 6) were not part of the deal. We chose the Poly, because it has big rooms and sleeps 5 comfortably. We passed our youngest child off as a 2 year old and thus squeezed 6 into a room made for 5.

You would have no problems...there are lots of rooms that sleep 5 at WDW. You'd have to pay for the one extra airfare and purchase park tickets for the extra person, but you would not have to pay for an extra room. The contest department will coordinate all the travel plans, including the additional people.

I'm sure I could find three from my family (well, me and two others) who would reluctantly agree to go with you. LOL

The other two would be thrilled (snicker, snicker) to stay behind and pamper your pooches while we are away!
