I have read that there are some value resort family suites. I'm looking to see if anyone has ever stayed in them, how expensive (or cheap) they are, and if they are a good value. I see the rates posted for places like Wilderness Lodge and other high end resorts, but am looking to do a late August vacation(next year) on a tight budget. I would appreciate any and all info anyone has on these. Thanks ever so much. Tricia

If you have at least 1 child under 3 you could stay at POR. We did that last year and are staying there this year again. It has 2 beds, plus a trundle and you can get a pack-n-play.
It was tight, but we were only there to sleep.
It is the cheapest option for us.
After our youngest turns 3, I think it will have to be 2 value rooms, a family suite at ASMu, or a cabin.
Good luck!

2 rooms at a Value is less expensive than a family suite. We always do 2 rooms either Value or Mod, depending on the budget and current offers.

I vote for cabin, has full kitchen, two tvs and enough beds and lots of room or renting points and staying DVC

We stay in the family suites, and while they are about $30/night more than 2 regular rooms in the values, you get a QS bed in the bedroom (vs. a double) and the kitchenette with the fridge & microwave. There are also 2 tvs, 2 bathrooms, 2 closets, 2 wall safes.

It is cheaper to stay in the family suite than it is to stay at WL cabins or in any of the villas.

Like a previous poster mentioned, if you have 1 kid under 3 (an 'infant' in Disney standards) then you can do Port Orleans Riverside... however it will be a tight fit in the room with 6 people. Plus you only have 1 bathroom, 2 double beds, a trundle & a pack n play.

Feel free to ask me any additional questions! DH & I thought about 2 seperate rooms in the values for our March 2010 trip (we have additional friends going, and could make 1 room a 'boys' room), but he said he didn't think we could go without the kitchenette! We ate breakfast in our room each day, minus the day we went to 'Ohanas for the Lilo & Stitch breakfast (yummy, btw).

We have the AS Family Suite booked for November and can't comment on that yet, but we did stay this past October at the GF (kids were 9, 7, 3 and 1) and hardly had any floor space and couldn't hardly unpack anything because there wasn't nearly enough drawer space, etc. It was VERY tight, but we did get to enjoy the GF which was beautiful! I'd be very concerned about space in a moderate because I am pretty sure the room will be even smaller than the one we had at the GF. I
f you are interested in offsite there are tons of options for larger families, like Nick Hotel, and Vistana, a timeshare that is renting out their units too had some great rates for 2-bedroom condos (like $99 a night!) and we almost decided to try that, but it will be the family suites for us this time. Good luck with your decision!

When we are onsite we stay at a value resort with two rooms. They guarantee connecting rooms for families with children. We keep the doors open all the time.

We are also a family of 6. We are staying at POR. I've heard and read so many wonderful things about the resort.

You could also do a split stay. I thought about that too, but don't really want to pack and unpack everything twice.

We stay at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. Two rooms, Big, lots of privacy (don't need to worry about kids disturbing others or others disturbing you), great parking, two tvs, FULL kitchen (cuts back on dining expenses by a ton), a bed for everyone, cheaper than deluxe resorts, lots going on at the resorts.

The other thing we do is rent DVC points.
