My girlfriend would like to stay at either Boardwalk or Beach Club. Her family consists of her, her husband and three kids, ages 5, 8 and 11. What size room does she need at these resorts? I wasn't sure if they allow 5 in a "standard room" Can they use a roll-away? Otherwise, what are her options? Any help would be appreciated. :D

I know about Board Walk only, she can stay there in a standard.
You get 2 queen beds plus a day bed.

Also if they want to rent DVC points they can do so by asking for a Studio Plus room.
I know BWV has these not sure about BCV.

The cheapest way for her to stay on-site would be at Port Orleans in one of the rooms that has a trundle bed, There are 2 regular beds in the room plus a pull out under one of the beds which sleeps one. We did this once when we were a family of 5, now there are 6 of us. Most of the delux rooms sleep 5 because they have a daybed in the room, we stayed at the Poly once with 6 as my youngest was still in the crib. Renting DVC points is also a nice option because you get a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, but I'm not sure if this would be as cheap as a moderate hotel, may depend on what type of deal she can get. I do not think Disney has roll aways and I for one would never try to sneak an extra person in, I'm quite sure with MY luck I would get caught!!

Also, I forgot about the Wilderness cabins which sleep 6. Disney doesn't really expect people to have larger families, we just bought DVC so we can stay onsite and have enough room as our kids are getting older (and BIGGER!!)

If you are talking about the DVC side of BWV and BCV, you really need a two bedroom. They don't guarantee the Studio Plus rrom at BWV any longer.

Really, the two bedroom is the only way to go, even if you only have two kids. Its so nice to have a seperate bedroom, an extra bathroom, the kitchen and living room, it like being at home....maybe that is why they call them "Home away from home" resorts.

Have experience in this with DS 12, DD 7 and DD 5. For comfort, go deluxe room. The FW cabins are great, but deluxe to home-away-from-home is tough to compare.

We are a family of 5. Last year we were 6 because my mom joined us. We rented points for a 2 bedroom villa at Beach Club Villas which is next door to the Beach Club resort. We lucked out and rented for $8 per point because the DVC owner only had a few months to "use or lose" his points. If you rent during Sunday through Thursday it is less expensive because the point value for Fri and Sat are almost twice as much. Our total 5 night stay during the week came out to $1248. We had two bedrooms and a sofa bed so in total it sleeps 8. We also had a full kitchen with refrig., micro, diswasher, and all the cooking and eating utensils (plates, glasses, pots, pans, etc) you need to make and eat meals in the kitchen. We also had a stackable washer/dryer combo. But the best part...ok, the other amenities are pretty awesome, but for us the best part was 2 BATHROOMS!! We have 2 baths in our house and sometimes even that isn't enough for all of us. I can't imagine a week stay at WDW with only one bathroom for the 5 of us.

We are planning for next June. The points will be more for BCV (plus we are budgeting for paying $10 per point since that is the general going rate among DVC owners), so we are thinking OKW. The two bedroom villas there are even BIGGER!! I highly recommend considering renting points for a DVC property if you have a larger family. It really enhanced our stay. For a week we actually felt like we were "residents of the Kingdom".

PM if you'd like more detailed info about renting points. :bounce:

Thanks everyone for all your respones! I agree with several of you regarding DVC points (I've done it 3 times already). As always, these boards are wonderful. Everyone has been very helpful. Thanks again!

Most BC rooms will sleep five. Two queens and a daybed (or two doubles:( )
