Family of 5-Fam. suite or 2 staterooms???

We're doing the one cabin (Cat 4). My children are going to be 6, 10, and 12. It may be a bit tight, but we look forward to the time "together". And, the veranda is a big plus in our viewpoint.

When we originally booked the cruise, the cost difference was negligable.

We are going to make a family suite for our family of 5 (8, 15, and 17 ) out of two adjoining cat 9s.

We have had the 2 connecting verandahs in the past and it worked out well, but to be cost effective we are going with the porthole.

We also tried the cat 11s last cruise and it wasnt so much claustrophobic , but disorienting. No way to differentiate betweed day and night, that bothered us.

If we were smaller I would go for the cat 4, but I think the affordable happy medium here for us is the two 9s.

sleeps up to 8 2 large portholes 4 sinks 2 toiloits, 2 showers, double the closet and drawer space, I think it will work.

Im sure the verandah makes for some nice experiences though. Just weigh it out carefully and do what makes you feel happiest.

I appreciate all of the insightful replies!!!! My head is SPINNING with all of this information.

As with most of my Disney plans, things change and change again as discussions are had and people become excited! It appears my parents may be coming with us (YAHOO!), so if that is the case, we will get 2 cabins (definitely with portholes, probably not with verandahs) for the seven of us.

If my parents do not come with us, I'm still torn! Did I mention we are considering the 4-night cruise (12/5/04)? Perhaps that would sway some opinions, since I could endure 1 bathroom easier for 4 nights than 7! LOL!!!
