Family Name Question.

Mom's side.
I call my grandma...grandma. My half brother calls her Granny. lol. But wait what does he call our grandpa. I call him papa. He calls him popeye. He's 11 and he calls our grandpa popeye. But so does everyone else. They all say. Hey, do you know what popeye's doing next week XD

Dads side.
Which would only be my grandma and grandpa. I call them grandma and Grandpa.

Step dads side.
Let's just say our family doesn't get along with them too well.

On my dad's side, it's simply Grandmom.

Then my grandfather on my dad's side is simply Grandpop.

My grandfather on my mom's side was Pop, or PopPop when I were younger.

I never knew my dad so on my moms side grandpa and grandma my cousin calls them papa and gram and when I was little I called them gramy and grandpy.

My dad's are tricky. First his mom died. His dad got re-married to a lady who had been divorced once. Then he died. Then his step mom got re-married four times until she found the right one.

Mom's mom: Grammy.
Mom's dad: Gramps.
Dad's stepdad: Opa
Dad's stepmom: Oma
(don't ask about the last two)

i don't even know where it came from! I called them that when I was a baby and it just stuck!!!
everyone calls them that! My cousins, my friends, my mom & dad!
It's awesome.
I really like it because it's so unique.


Dad's side;
Gramma (dad's step mom) & Grampa
Gramma & Papa (dad's step dad)

when i was little i had trouble saying grandma and grandpa so i shortened them in a way.

my grandma died but my Paw Paw's new wife I call her Judy which is her name.
I guess I just have trouble calling her grandma.

Maternal Grandfather- He is no longer alive, but I used to call him Grandad.

Paternal Grandmother- Oma.

Grama [it's how she always spells it on cards and things so I guess that's how I'll spell it too (obviously, hopefully, pronounced like 'Grandma')] and Papa.

I've never spoken to my dad's parents.

I don't have a grandfather.

i call my grandmother "nenny". when I was a child, everyone called her "libby" (her middle name is elizabeth) but I couldn't say that. so nenny was the closest I could get. it just stuck.

mom's side:
grandma- grandma. she's not one for nicknames...
grandpa- pop-pop. his kids all called him pop, so we just added another one. he died when i was 9.

dad's side:
grandpa- grandpa. he's my here. he died when i was 9, too.
grandma- never met her. she died when my dad was 19.

Mom's side: Memere and Pepere(dead) and Big Memere (my great-grandma). I occasionally use Grand-Mere, too.
Dad's side: never knew them.
