We're taking DD8 and DS5 for a surprise mini-trip in August (visited several times, including 1/05 and booked for 4/06). We'll be at POP for 4 nights, Thurs-Mon. We are planning on TL on Fri and MK on Sat. I booked the Family Magic Tour (with Disney Visa discount) - so I'm looking for opinions on the tour and it is worth it with this trip's schedule or should we wait.

Our plans are:
Thurs: Arrive MCO 3:30 pm, check in POP, Chef Mickey's dinner
Fri: TL for day, Cinderella's Gala Feast for dinner
Sat: 8:05 AR @CP, FMT @10:00, afternoon break (if necessary), MK til close
Sun: Downtown Disney, then spend time at WL, dinner at Whispering Canyon
Mon: pool, lunch - head to MCO at 3:30 (flight at 6:30)

So, is FMT worth taking the couple of hours to do if it is your only park day?

We love the Family Magic Tour! We have done it several times and each time it was great (we even did twice on one of our trips!). It is really a special treat. The character interaction at the end is wonderful.

Thanks. I have searched and found a couple of other reviews of the FMT - sounds like it will be fun even though its our only park day.

Any other opinions?

We were probably the only people on the planet who had a bad Family Magic Tour experience. The park was super crowded and it was hotter than usual which were contributing factors to the misery. The only thing I really regret about it is that we were only able to go on a few rides afterward because of the crowds. You miss that window of opportunity before the park really fills up when you do the tour.

If crowds are comparable to early July when you go, the tour will have to take the place of some of the rides you might want to go on.

Try this link. It has alot of reviews about the tour. BEWARE there are all kinds of spoilers included in them. If you don't want to know anything that will happen....don't read them!!! We have not done this tour yet but have it booked for our October trip. I read all the reviews and everyone sounds like they had a great time. I didn't care if I knew what was going to happen.....as long as the kids don't know!!! I'm sure it will be great! Have fun! Kathy :earsgirl:

We are taking it in early Dec. We are going on a Early Entry morning. I figured if we are at the parks when the gates open at 8 we can get a bunch of rides in from 8 - 9:30 (get that always crowded fantasyland done :crowded: ). At 9:30 we will head straight to the tour.

If it was our ONLY park day I would only consider doing it on Fri. when you could get some rides in before the crowds hit. After the tour things will really start to fill up. If you don't get to Disney very often I would skip it.
