Hi planning our trip for december of this year. Will be going with a 4 year old, 2 year old, one year old, this will be our second trip. Our first was last year at the same time. I just found out about the family magic tour and BOOKED it for one day while we are there, can anyone who has done this tell me about it. We really want to see Peter, since we live sleep and eat peter pan at this house, what are the odds we get another character? The person booking it did not even know that they might swap out characters, does this happen a lot?
also, other than character meals, what other really fun things like the family magic tour should we do? Any good ideas, we are doing the christmas party 2, will be there 10 days?
Thanks

We did it 2 years ago when DD was 6 and DS was 9. Prepare to be embarrassed! We barked, crawled, and tic-tocked our way thru the MK. My kids thought it was great that Mom joined in the fun. At the end, we met Peter Pan, who took us on IASW. It took around 2 hours. All walking, so bring strollers if your little ones need them.

We did this tour a few weeks ago and really liked it. DD7 is probably at the upper age limit for enjoying this tour, but I'm glad we did it. You don't learn much of anything, but it's enjoyable. I don't know how often they switch out characters - we got Peter Pan and Wendy and, while they didn't show up until most of the way through the tour, they interacted a LOT with the kids.

Another option is to ask where Peter will be - we saw him signing autographs with Wendy and Hook several times in Adventureland on a tiny platform you could just walk by and not notice.......

Has anyone been on the Family Magic tour recently? We are planning on taking it but I am not sure about strollers. Can they be used or not? We are going to take our DS7 and DS4; I am worried about the younger guy's stamina.
The plan for that day is going to be:

If the park opens early enough, haircuts for the boys on Main Street at about 9:00 a.m.

10:00 a.m. Family Magic Tour
12:00 noon Maybe hit a couple of rides but, probably not and then back to GF for R & R
4:00 back to the park for MNSSHP
6:05 TTS (or is it TS?) PS
?:?? Play until someone drops.... probably me. ;)

So, as you can see even with the afternoon at the hotel we still have a pretty busy day and I don't want to ruin it by having DS4 run out of steam 'walking' the park during the tour.

We love the Family Magic Tour! We have done it 4 times now. The first time youngest dd was not quite 3 and I brought the stroller. She didn't ride in it most of the time and was able to keep up pretty well. The guides are really good about keeping everyone together. The speed of the tour will depend on the ages of all the people in your tour. We have had Peter Pan on all of our tours. Wendy was with him on our last tour in Feb. We will be booking another Family Magic Tour on our Dec trip. We can't wait!

Just FYI, if you're looking for the Peter Pan characters, they're almost always in front of Pirates of the Caribbean. I've never seen them near the Peter Pan ride, ironically...

We did the Family Magic Tour in Apri. There were 7 of us (4 Adults, a 6 year old, a 4 year old & a 21 month old).

We had a GREAT time. Lots of clowning around & being silly.

Peter Pan & Wendy at the end were wonderful. Everyone LOVED them!

We took our stroller, though I wish we had parked it somewhere. It was kind of a hassel pushing it around, and my 21 month old had no interest in being in it at all during the tour.

When we do the tour next time, I will park my stroller up in Fantasyland & leave it there for the entire tour. That way I can pick it up again at the end of the tour.

We did this on mothers day and it was fun. My dd is 6. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to do it. You could use a stroller but really I am sure they wont want to be in because you hop, skip , jump, crawl, etc through mk. We did it on our last day and I wish we would have done it on one of our first days. I learnt a lot where to find some characters and different path ways to each area that would have been helpful because it was our first trip.
Dont miss it ... its a blast.
We had Peter Pan and Wendy at the end of the tour got great photo ops and went on a ride with them... special door and everything.
Even my hubbie said that was cool. He did all the things too which really surprised me.
If you have any questions you can pm.

We only had Wendy at the end, no Peter. She was awesome though!! She took us to Mickey's Philharmagic and while we were in a special line waiting she played Wendy Says with us. Some other people came over and our CM guide told them, "sorry, this is a private party" THAT was awesome :rotfl2:

We sat in the front row, my dd sat right next to Wendy. Wendy made comments like, "when you see Tink, every one wave and say 'hi tink!'" and "I just LOVE to sing along, don't you? Let's all sing along!" she sat cross legged on the chair as she watched and made comments to the characters "HI PETER!". It was so wonderful!! I have preciuos pictures of my 5 yr old holding Wendy's hand, makes me cry with how personal Wendy was.

They do say that it can change at any time, so there are no guarentees. I think that our CM went and told them it was an all girl group and that is why we had only Wendy, no idea.

I could post pics and tell you more, but honestly it's probably better that you don't know. :grouphug:

PS still would like to have someone private email me the description in detail so I can put it in my scrapbook! Thanks.

The Family Magic Tour is an awesome time! We did it last July and are going to do it again. You have to do some pretty silly things and everyone around stops to see what your group is up to. We had two breaks and followed clues to find Captain Hook's hook. Peter and Wendy were at the end and my daughter wouldn't even talk to them! :rotfl2: Anyways she enjoyed watching them interact with all the other children and followed along and was quite happy to be included in the group and didn't like being singled out. Peter and Wendy were excellent with her--they tried to engage her and with no luck Peter figured the pirates must have cut out her tongue and that's why she couldn't talk. How sad! pirate: We went to Philharmagic and sat in the front row with Peter and Wendy. It was a so much fun and now we are honorary lost boys and girls! :goodvibes
