Just got back from 8 days at Disney and wanted to review the Family Magic Tour since I couldn't find anything on it before we went, just a lot of people wanting to know more.

To start my family is me and DH (both in our 30s), DS - 7, 4, 2

Our group consisted of 17 people, all families expect two girls in there 20s.

We started at 10am at the Chamber of Commerce and were on a search to find Stitch would had escaped and hidden some other characters stuff around MK. The tour included a water bottle for everyone.

The clues had you looking for items from some recent movies. It started and went down main street, over to Liberty Square, Adventure Land, and then we got to ride Winnie the Pooh. After that we headed to Tomorrow Land and met Peter Pan and had a 10 minute break after some photos.

We then headed through Tomorrow Land getting more clues that eventually tell you to take them to the boss (aka Mickey). So we went to see the talking Mickey. Even though we went into the FP line it still took a long time. We then went in as a group, met Mickey, took photos and the guide just said to Mickey he would take the stuff back for him. This was the only crappy part, very anti-climatic and the kids didn't even get what was going on. Considering Mickey can talk I thought Disney could do a lot better. At the end we also got a FP to use on any ride in the entire park or to see Mickey again. Could not be used on any other Character experiences.

For us it was nice to fit into our 3rd day at MK and am glad we did it. We have been sick with the flu since coming home so I haven't downloaded my camera yet and I can post some photos if anyone would like. I don't however want to post too many specific photos as I don't want to ruin the magic.

Questions? ask away.

this looks awesome I'm seriously debating adding this to a future disney trip it looks like fun my friend and i will be 23/22 lol

Thanks, thats really helpful - does talking Mickey actually talk in this experience?

thanks first state - i think i will change my FP+ selection on the day of the tour then!

Sorry the flu took over our house.

No the FP couldn't be used for the fireworks or parade.

Yes Mickey talks. He is in the building to the right when you enter, across from Town Hall. Sorry the name escapes me.

Thanks for the review!

How long did the tour last, and how did your 2-year-old do?

Where was the Peter Pan meet? Was it just your group?

Do you just pay the cost of the tour or do you need a park admission too?

The cost for tour is separate from park admission - you need to buy park admission separately for any Disney tours which happen in a park in order to participate in the tour. AND you need to pay for the tour. So, yeah, it can get pretty spendy. But usually worth it!

My two year old did fine. When walking between clues I would just put him in the stroller. Since the tour started at 10am I didn't want him to use all his energy for it when I still had a full park day planned. Also in saying he was fine we never took a break and went back to the resort. This was also on our 5th straight park day, and being the youngest of 3 he is used to just coming along and napping when he wants, I always carry snacks for him so he is happy.

We met Peter Pan beside Cheshire Cafe in the little enclosed area towards Winnie the Pooh ride.

Yes the tour is on top of park admission and was $34 a person, but I didn't have to pay for the 2 year old.

What time did the tour finish?

Also, what moves were the clues from? We're going in a week and I'd like to make sure my kids have seen the movies they are referencing!

Great review, thank you!:thumbsup2, but to me the tour sounds just, o.k. Kind of like SOTMK on steroids. :confused3 We don't do SOTMK either, just not how we prefer to spend our time in the parks.

Thanks for the review! We are planning to do this in a couple of weeks but I hadn't been able to find many recent reviews on it until I saw yours.

Thank you so much for the review. Have booked this a while ago for May 12th and since our kids do not speak English it will be nice to prepare them a little for what's ahead. We will be translating for them ofcourse.
The extra fastpass sounds like a great bonus! We are staying off-site and snatching a SDMT FP at a child friendly time is proving quite difficult...

Thanks for the review. Is it a single FP slip good for the whole family, or individual FP slips for each person in the party?
