Family Magic Tour @ Magic Kingdom - worth it?

I am looking at the Family Magic Tour in Magic Kingdom for our trip in late February and looking for reviews/feedback/advice/opinions. My kids will be 9 and 7 years old, and very much believe in the magic of Disney. Would this be a fun adventure for them? Do you get to do any rides as part of the tour? I have heard there may be a fastpass to one ride and a character meet. I am looking for spoilers!!! It runs from 10-11:30am so prime park touring hours - I don't want to spend that time if this tour is just "meh". If it is a magical experience, I am all for it! (We have 2 days in Magic Kingdom this trip and go to Disney World once a year, if it helps to know it is not our 1st visit)

I've done this tour before as a kid several years ago...the 7 year old will probably enjoy it, the 9 year old I'm not sure. Unfortunately you don't get to ride any rides but there are some surprises along the way...no spoilers though!
