Our family has grown and can no longer fit into one unit. Do you find that it is important to all stay at one resort?? Also we will be using my dvc points. Do both rooms have to be registered under my name??

You need each room to be registered under an adult, not the same name.

What's the ages on the family? People might have a better idea then?

You might want to hit up the family forum as well with the question on all the same resort.

Whenever we have gone with family or friends we have all stayed at the same resort. I guess it depends on how much time you all want to spend together. Also I'm not sure what the motivation would be to stay in different locations. I would think the purpose of a family trip is to spend time together. JM2cents....

We stayed at BCV one year and son and daughter in law were at Poly - it was a royal pain and we wasted a lot of time

Whenever I've gone with a group, we've always stayed at the same resort, and requested rooms near each other. It just seems so much simpler when you try to get everyone together to go somewhere.

Certainly makes the logistics much easier if you are staying at the same resort!

We've done both. Since we use my parents points for our trip with the entire family (11 of us - my parents, my sister and her family, me and my family), our resort selections are usually dictated by how many points my mom will let us use. :rotfl2:Usually, my sister and I share a 2BR and my parents stays in a 1BR. Sometimes we all stay together in the same resort. Last trip, my mom really wanted to stay at BLT, but didn't want to spend points for a 2BR at BLT so sister and I stayed at Copper Creek. It works for us as all of us sometimes like some alone time. We eat most of our meals together and tour the parks together for the bulk of the day so if my parents want to chill in their room away from us in the evenings, that's ok with us. We don't complain as we are not paying for a room so..... :earboy2:

Thank you all for your input!! Our party consists of 3 couples. One couple has 3 boys ages will be 7,10,12 and 1 daughter 5. In addition there will be 3 single adult women. I own at Bay Lake and will have 900 points to work with. We plan on staying for a week.

BLT standard is one of the best deals, points-wise, in the MK area. I would totally do that. If there are some singles who might prefer CCV/BRV and you could get them there, you're still only a boat ride away. I think it depends on how you'd all want to tour, and how much time you'd want to spend together. If you split up into different resorts, I'd probably try to keep you all in the MK area nonetheless.

We did a family reunion where we all stayed in a 2BR at BLT, but my sister and her family (1 baby at the time) stayed on CA time, so we always made plans to meet up later at the park. Even staying in the same unit, it was a royal pain because their schedules were 3 hours offset by ours! 🤣 It was as if they were staying at a different resort ...

As others have said, I think it really depends on your touring style. It's hard to get a 5yo and 12yo to agree on the same things, much less with couples and single adults. Even for the family of 6 they're likely to split up at times. If everyone is together that's great, but if the family is all about rides and the adults want nightlife, I could see booking BWV or SSR for the adults and just making plans to meet at parks on certain days. As long as the plan is "we'll meet up once we all get there" I don't think it has to be a huge timesink. (particularly in the absence of fastpasses)

Sorry, I vote for a BLT 2 bedroom...family of six gets one bedroom for the kids (too bad if they don’t want to sleep in the same room, are they paying), and their parents the loft area and use the kids bathroom if required at night, two of the single women get the other bedroom (their own beds) and someone gets the king...

Like a previous post said, depends on traveling style. we've shared a unit with in-laws, and while it was nice being in one place, sometimes you want a break from others. Also, whomever is in the living room, will be adapting to others schedules, if someone decides to make early morning coffee, or whatever. we did a GV at BWV (our home,) one year, and had MIL/FIL, plus SIL and her son. It was nice to have the together time, but we were on difft schedules sometimes. now MIL/FIL often stay at SoG, while we stay in whatever DVC unit. and we just meet up at the park, or dinner, etc. Right now for fall break, we have ourselves in 1 bedroom at BWV (we prefer 1 bedrooms to studios for our family of 4,) and then FIL/MIL at OKW. we'll just meet up later. I'd evaluate how much privacy everyone wants, what kinds of schedules y'all will have, etc. if y'all are doing everything together, etc. Maybe consider a 2 bedroom plus an extra studio, if you're not doing GV? BLT and AKL Kidani always great for the extra bathrooms. Good luck with the planning!!!

What's the loft area at BLT? You mean the living room? A two bedroom will work for the group of nine. Family gets the two bedrooms (mom and dad in the master, kids in the second), adult women get the living room. Or mom and dad plus daughter in the master, three adult women in the second and three boys in the living room.

BLT two bedroom dedicated. Whoever has the points can dictate the bedroom arrangements but I think the family of six gets the master bedroom and the living room for sleeping and the three female adults get the two queens in the second bedroom.

two adults and a child can sleep in the king. Three kids on the sofa bed and chair bed in living room. Three adults split the two queens. This probably works the best.

You said that there were three couples though. How many total people are you looking to book rooms for?
