family gathering, but some staying off site?

We're headed home this summer for the first time, and we're taking all of the grandparents with us! My mom and DH's mom will be staying in the 2BR with us, but my dad and step-mother will be using a timeshare off site. Now, my dad and step-mother only plan on using their timeshare as a place to rest their heads at night, but otherwise will be spending the bulk of the day/night with us at the VWL/parks.

Anyone else ever travel with family who stayed off site? Will they be able to come enjoy the quiet pool with us when we're on a break from the parks? Are we allowed to have "guests"? How do we go about getting them in?

Thanks in advance for any info!

If they are driving in, they will have to give your name at the guard desk, and they will direct them to your unit.

a 2-bedroom has capacity for 8 - if only 4 are going you can definitely have the other 2 with keys....

getting them a parking pass when you get yours....

I'm not clear on how I would go about getting them keys and a parking pass, if they are not true guests at the lodge? Wouldn't it look suspicious if I asked for 8 keys and there are only 4 adults on the reservation? How does that work?

Thanks!

If you only have four adults and two children in the room right now, you can go ahead and add them to your reservation. This will give them room keys (need these for EMH) and access to the pool. Plus you can get them a parking pass for their car.

I agree.

But it will get compicated if you decide to add any dining plans to your reservation.

Does it matter if the room keys are not going to be used as our "tickets" though? DH and I have old park hopper passes to use, and we were going to purchase tickets for everyone else through Ticketmania. :confused3

I'm thinking it doesn't matter, because you just need proof of being a resort guest for EMH or EE (do they even do early entry anymore?)

Thanks for all of your info./advice!

No, it doesn't matter.

you get both early EMH and Late EMH

here is the schedule right now - always open to change....

plus if they get tired they can go back to your place to rest - if that is okay with you.

sometimes that extra 15 minutes to get back to an offsite can really get tiring....

to be able to do EMH they will need a room ID...

of course he is right if you decide to add disney dinning - you need to add it to everyone on your reservation.

I have stayed in a studio before and has 3 parking passes..... :thumbsup2
