Family, Friends, & Celebrities- A MAGICAL Birthday TR!!! *UPDATE*8/27! Final thoughts

I loooove Push. Amazing how you can get people to talk and hug a trash can hehe

Here you can see Dave conducting business, and the work on the castle.

Is it just me, or does Dave look like he's trying to get a code to access the secret back door to the castle here?

When we went on our 1st trip(March 2008), we ran into Push. He must of left a good impression with Juliana because when we went in March 2009 we stayed at CSR. While we were walking around checking out the resort, Juliana kept saying hello and hi at random times. I had no idea what she was doing. I finally figured it out- She was saying HI to the trash cans!!!! She remembered PUSH. That whole trip when she saw a trash can (and you know how many are on property) she said Hi to it. It was so funny!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

The girls are simply elegant and lovely! I think my favorite pic of the whole lot as the girls with the FG! So sweet!
I like that pic a lot too! The FGM was sooo nice and I almost started feeling bad because there was a whole line of people behind us and the FGM was taking so much time with the girls. :wizard:

Seriously, that was too funny about the sword- what a fun memory. I hope it didn't make Alex feel too badly. Or Dave. :lmao:
Not sure if you remember but in Monday MK update I brought up the fact that I never seen anyone pull it out. I was just testing the waters. ;)

In the picture he is looking at Dave and laughing. He was fine with not being able to pull it out. ;)

I LOVE what they did for Ana at Cosmics!! That is incredibly cool!! She doesnt' have a shy bone in her body does she?
Sometimes she is very shy and other times she is very outgoing. It seemed like for most of this day she was very outgoing. :)

At first I thought the caption for you picture with Dave on the phone was, "This is Dave conducting business FOR the castle remodel". I was about to come up with some smart donkey retort to exactly what kind of business he might be conducting. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
:rotfl2: 'Yes, this is Dave. I'm standing outside the door and it is locked. Could you please send someone down here to open it?'

Buzz.... I'll reserve judgement until I ride TSM. Right now, I still love it. But that's because I can usually find my own laser and rack up some decent points.
Wait till you ride TSM.... then get back to me.:laughing:

My kids ran into push. (the older teens who were off on their own) and LOVED him. They still think it was one of their favorite memories! I don't think they say hi to random cans though. ;)
That's great that your kids got to see him too. We love PUSH!!!! Who would of thought a trash can could draw a crowd? :confused3:confused3

Great update! Fun meet and greet with the FGM. Yay for talking trash cans and a bday message at Cosmic Ray's!
Thanks!!!!

It was one great experience to the next! :wizard:

Great update! Other than Mel being sick and the deluge of rain (hmm, both pretty big bummers) the day seems to be going amazingly well! What great timing for FGM.
Mel was just talking to her mom about how crappy she felt that day. She really wanted to just crawl in to bed and sleep the whole day.

There was a lot of pixie dust flying that afternoon!

I forgot to comment on PUSH! Now it's only in WDW where it's okay to see someone hugging a trash can! :rotfl:
Very true!!!! If you saw that in your local mall you might think there was something seriously wrong with the person. :lmao::lmao:

Every day in my computer room I have to walk past/look up to see the photo of my fiancee handing me my behind at BLSRS. She hit the 999k spot and proceeded to spend the rest of the ride spinning the cart so I couldn't do anything. Of course, between then and us going back to MK 8 months later there was trash talk involved and me clamoring for a rematch where...I lost again. I have completely lost my touch at that game, too.
I never knew there was a 999K spot. I need to research this. :surfweb:

How rotten of your fiancee to keep spinning the ride! Although if you weren't able to score any more points, I'm sure you would of been spinning it too!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think I can't shoot as quickly as I want on Buzz... or it could be I have no idea what I'm doing. :rotfl::rotfl::lmao:

What a great update (again). :thumbsup2

I loved the little birthday surprise at Cosmic Ray's. That's awesome that her picture was up there on the menu board area. Too cool.

And PUSH - very nice. Loved the story about the previous trip. :thumbsup2

what a GREAT day so far! I didn't even know the sword actually came out, I would have screamed it would have startled me so much.

Wonderful pics. What a great pixie dust filled magical birthday. Wow.
When Victoria pulled it and it popped up, she jumped down so fast. It definitely scared her. It was amazing!

This whole day was one for the ages. (in my book anyways)

Wow! You've really had some great magic so far. That's part of what makes WDW so fun! There are those certain things that you can't plan for, you can't schedule, you can't force to happen....they just do. We have never seen PUSH in all our trips, and I just saw a thread the other day where people were saying they have NEVER seen anyone pull the sword from the stone. Can't wait to read about the rest of the day :goodvibes
One good place to find PUSH is if you are in Tommorowland walking towards Cosmic Rays, there is a store right near the bathrooms on the left. He usually hangs out there. If you look in the first picture of Juliana standing next to PUSH, you can see the store entrance in the background. I cannot remember the name of it though. :confused3 Another time to find him is right before the parade- in the Tommorowland side of the hub, right in front of the castle.

That would freak you out a bit, I didn't realize it EVER came up?! My boys try every time we are there I'll make sure we try again. I will also let them know 4 year old girls pulled it out! :lmao:
Now you are going to rub it in????? AWESOME!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Love, love PUSH!! She's getting lots of pixie dust and attention this day, so sweet.
It was amazing how much the CMs and people in general acted towards the girls. It wasn't like they were the only BBB girls in the park but they really made them feel like princesses.

Yeah that's what I say every time I get off that ride too!! Sure it was the "guns" issue.:lmao:
Exactly!!!! MY gun was broken... I SWEAR!!!!!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Again they just look precious! Poor Alex though, I know the plight of boys and how there isn't much for them at Disney as far as opportunities to make them feel special. Wish he had been able to pull up the sword! Loved the pics with FGM, she looked like a life size cotton candy very sweet!!
I think if Alex was a little older, Dave & Branda would of done the Pirates League or something like that for him. Don't worry though... he got some attention too.. (coming up in the next update) :goodvibes

I love what happened with the sword in the stone and all the little special things.
Sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest impact and helps create a lasting memory. :thumbsup2

I do have one thing to say though.

Only in Disney World, would we actually encourage our children to huge a trash can. :lmao:

Sorry, couldn't resist, but it's so true!
It is amazing how kids just gravitate towards PUSH. That one Can gets hundreds of hugs a day! Plus he is a comedian too!!! :lmao:

Finally caught back up on your TR. I'm so glad that Juliana was able to get some of that Disney magic on her birthday! Sounds like even though the rain tried to dampen the day, it just kept getting more magical :cool1: Another great installment. Thanks again for sharing these moments :thumbsup2
You had a good excuse why you were MIA! :worship::worship:

We had a nice break from the rain for a few hours.... that was about to come to an end. LOL

You really have me curious about your trip. You think you are going to do a full report or just a scaled back version? :surfweb:

LOL... yep... good enough reason anyway :lmao: Oh... the Florida rain... sounds like the next installment is going to be interesting. popcorn::

Not sure about my TR yet. I was going to wait until this weekend to see how everything settles in my head. I certainly don't want to take another year to write it :rolleyes1

I know!!!! Plus he is funny too!

We love PUSH!

He does!!! Too bad Dave has no pull. :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

From what I understand they just started doing the pictures in Cosmic Rays. The CM took her picture with what seemed like an iPhone (wasn't iPhone just about the same size as one), and then sent it to the screen. It was neat to see it up there. :goodvibes

Rain is an understatement.... It was nasty! :scared1::scared1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Well what ever you do, I will be reading it. Maybe you can make it into an exclusive DISDADS.com TR or a mini report. :scratchin

Holy cow I've missed two updates.
The girls look like they're really enjoying the princess treatment. How was Alex holding up through all this? Was he feeling a little shutout?

I remember that rain! We were in DHS that day and got absolutely drenched!

No problem... I knew you would get here eventually.

Alex got some alone time with dad and then after the girls were done at BBB he was fine with it. Plus he got some 'special' treatment himself... that story is coming up!

You texted me in the evening and I didn't see it till late. Then I forgot to text you back... it was something like 'Is it dry where you are?' or something like that. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The 1st thing I thought when I read about the Sword coming up, is "Tim,s a lier!". LOL! I knew you had asked all about it, and here you knew.
Super cool though. You guys had good mojo going that day.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOM's OUT THERE..... I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY WITH YOUR FAMILIES!!!

Happy Mother's Day to Mel.
Thanks Kathy... Happy Mother's Day to you too!! :goodvibes

I was testing the waters to see who has seen it pulled out. ;) I did find out that they used to have a ceremony-never knew that. A few people have been able to pull it out.

We were on a magical roll!!! :wizard::wizard:

I came across your TR and I gotta say, I LOVE IT! So nice to see another NYer enjoyed WDW  and Juliana is so freakin' cute! You have a beautiful family. Can't wait to read more! Keep 'em coming! :goodvibes

That is awesome!!! Wonder what made them want to do that? :goodvibes

Sorry... I didn't mean to pry. The reason I asked was that Juliana was diagnosed with MPO deficiency. Here is an 'quick' definition:

http://www.wellness.com/reference/allergies/myeloperoxidase-mpo-deficiency/

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is an iron-containing human enzyme that helps neutrophils and monocytes (types of white blood cells) destroy foreign substances like bacteria, fungi, and viruses that enter the body.
Myeloperoxidase deficiency, a disorder that occurs when individuals have abnormally low or nonexistent levels of the enzyme, was first described in 1954. Some patients who have MPO deficiency are unable to destroy substances that enter the body as efficiently as individuals who have the enzyme. However, most patients are asymptomatic (experience no symptoms) and the condition is usually undiagnosed.

In most cases the condition is inherited. When the condition is caused by other medical conditions, such as anemia, thrombotic diseases, or diabetes mellitus, it is called acquired MPO deficiency. Most acquired cases are temporary and resolve once the underlying cause is treated.
In general, most individuals with partial or complete MPO deficiency have no increased frequency of infections. This is because MPO-deficient neutrophils are able to phagocytose (engulf) most microbes normally.

However, the neutrophils' ability to actually kill the bacteria typically occurs at a slower rate. For instance, when bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli enter the body, it takes the neutrophils longer than normal to kill the bacteria. This indicates that the MPO-deficient cells use a different and slower method of killing the microbes.
The MPO-deficient neutrophils are completely unable to kill certain fungi and in vitro (test tube) studies have shown that Candida albicans, Candida krusei, Candida stellatoidea, and Candida tropicalis cannot be killed by MPO-deficient neutrophils.

Severe infections occur in fewer than five percent of patients with MPO deficiency. In general, infections only occur in patients who also have diabetes mellitus. The reason for this remains unknown.
Since most cases are undiagnosed, researchers initially thought that the condition was very rare. Only 15 cases reported worldwide before 1970. Today, technological advances in sciences have led researchers to believe the condition is more prevalent, with incidence rates from studies ranging from one case per 1,400 to 2,000 people in the United States.

Why am I telling you this? Melody gets sick often and was always sick as a kid. The doctors told us that MPO deficiency is most likely inherited and that many people likely have it, but 'normal' people never have the tests to diagnose it. Juliana has the test because she kept getting fevers after chemo. One reason is that most cases are mild and don't really 'harm' a person- they just are more likely to get sick.

Hey! I would not have answered unless it was ok with me. Thanks for all the information. I actually enjoy learning things about the world and people. I am often found watching documentary types shows about many different topics. No prying here! :dance3: I really enjoyed learning a bit about MPO deficiency and maybe in the future if I talk to someone who is sick all the time I can suggest this! Thanks

Hey! I read update, and it was wonderful. Great pics of the girls! Such beautiful princesses. I love the BBB, such a nice magical experience for the girls. Sword & the Stone, WOW! I didn't even realize that it came out, really cool. Cosmic Ray Birthday Serenade! Wonderful and PUSH! is so much fun.

Sorry, MIA for awhile! But I'm back and all caught up - loved the last two updates. The girls look so beautiful as princesses!!! And Juliana is having such a great birthday. :goodvibes
