He's waiting for the call. Apparently, they give families about two weeks' notice. All six of them (five players + alternate) need to be able to pretty-much turn on a dime, and be ready to jump on a plane with just that little bit of notice. Supposedly, some families have been waiting for the call for a year; not sure what the story is with that. This reminds me... one of my co-workers tried out and was supposed to be flown down there to be on the show, sometime in July or August. I never heard what came of that... I'll have to check with him tomorrow.
I saw that I'm going to be there on a taping day,how do you go about getting to see the taping.
When entering the park, if it is a taping day (Fri, Sat, Sun), you can go over to your right, all the way over to the right there is a window for the Studio Audience Center, there you can get tickets for a show that day. The times are not announced in advance, but there are multiple shows a day. Once you get your tickets you can report to a gate next to Rip, Ride, Rockit. There somebody should escort you to the soundstages, after going through security, you will be brought into the soundstage. There isn't a lot of seating and there are no bathroom breaks, but it is a cool experience, and in between acts Steve Harvey is hilarious. It should be noted you must be 16 years of age or older, and there are additional rules you will be told after entering.
