Family checking in first/ online checkin question

Does anyone have experience with family that is staying in villa with us checking in first and did you do online checkin?

I went to do that but it won't complete the process unless I enter a pin number for my sister and BIL. Ideally they would have their Magic Bands connected to their own credit card, as would we (which I think would be the norm) and we should not have access to their pin number.

So for now, we're not checking in online. They will arrive several hours before us so they will check in first. I'm assuming there is no difference with MB vs the old card and charging to separate cards and that is feasible.

Anyone with recent experience with this scenario?

Online check in doesn't do much for you if anything. I wouldn't worry about it. They can check in first in person and enter their own pins.

We have been able to continue through the PIN set up screen without assigning a PIN to each person. Just hit Submit and see if it goes through.

In either event, your family will be able to check in early since they are listed on the reservation. When they arrive they can either go through the check in process or pick up the Online Check In materials that are already waiting. They can either pick up your keys or have the Front Desk hold them for your arrival.

We have often found that even though we have used online check in, there isn't any packet made up in advance and we have to wait, give them our CC etc.

Really? We have never had that experience. Even when checking in at 8am the packet was there waiting for us.
