Two questions:

1. Will be at OKW June 15 to 21 and plan to do the family boat rental plan at either Contemporary or Polynesian. Any recommendations for which one?

2. There will be eight of us (5 of our kids plus one cousin). Four are old enough to drive the boats (12 and up). Will the four younger kids be allowed to ride along with us -- even though that will exceed the number allowed on the family rental? How about on the pontoon boats?

How about the pontoon boat that takes you from either Beach Club or Boardwalk and gives you a private VIP viewing of Illuminations? Lots of fun, especially watching the stares from the Epcot guests pressed against the edge of the lagoon. Plus you can either order special food from Disney or bring your own buffet (champagne, you name it). Fits around 10 people, but you must book it as soon as it is available (I think 90 days prior). A steal at around $120.

Is this the "specialty cruise" or a boat that guests pilot on their own??

(I would like to do that some time, but as we're gonna be there in 10 days I think it's too late for this trip.)

Could you tell me how much this would cost? I have a family of five and I was thinking about this for our trip in July at the Poly.
Thanks!
Linda

THe family plan is $200.00 + tax (around 210.00) for your length of stay. You can use most of the boat & water mice for as long as you want from day of your trip to the last day of your trip. We did it last year. It was one of the best things we did. We used it for at least 1-2 hrs. a day. We used the pontoon boats and cruised the lagoon. Its one of the best values at dw. We were there for 13 days & really got our moneys worth. The kids used the water mice, you have to be 13 or 14 yrs. old to drive it yourself every day. We didn't go to the parks much last summer, so this plan really worked for us. The only thing is, I think you have to be staying at one of the resorts that offer this. THe CR, Poly, GF. I'm not positive, maybe someone can verify for sure. Also, I heard that they discontinued it for this year, but this may only be a rumor. I sure hope they didn't bcause in July we'll be at the GF & we're already talking about doing it again. Its loads of fun & was one of the highlights of our trip lst year.

Wow that sounds great. Thanks for the info!

Can someone clarify.... I have heard the Captains Plan is length of stay and I've heard 7 days. Which is it?

Thanks!! :D

Sorry, this is a question within another posters question. I was distracted by my two yo.

To OP, I'm not the one to ask! I guess it would depend on which marina is easier for you to get to.

I spoke with the marina at the Comtemporary. They told me that you DON't have to be a guest at the particular resort to participate in the family plan -- just a guest at any WDW property. Kids must be 12 yrs old AND 5 feet tall to drive.

6 days to go. We're gonna rent on our first afternoon there -- while we're waiting for our room -- and on the days we don't go into any parks.

I didn't ask specifically whether it's for seven days or LOS, but every other post/thread has indicated 7 days.

Just booked the family plan but at the CBR. From what I heard they only operate on their lagoon. Would it be wise to change to another? Is it that difficult to go from hotel to hotel?
I have also scheduled 10 add'l passes for other water activities--did not realize that the pontoon boats could be part of the family plan though! Am spending "free" recreational dollars from a contest win so want to make it the ultimate adventure!:Pinkbounc

What is the best resort to book this family boat plan through...?

Fyi... The Captain's Plan is a 4-hour plan for $113. plus tax.

Then there's the Length of Stay plan which is $$211.94 including tax...and it's LOS or 3 weeks maximum from what I've read.

Where can I find information about the family plan? We're staying at the CBR in October & might consider this.

Thanks,
