We are a family of four and prefer to get a 2 bedroom. We like to spread out and not deal with the living room hide-away bed. Just wondering what others do for most trips. Do you prefer the studio, 1 BR, or 2BR?

As a family of four (2 DD's) we have stayed in a 1BR so far. But we added points to allow us to stay in 2BR's from now on. The luxury of an unslept in living room/kitchen has a lot of appeal to us, plus this way everyone will have a bed of their own (DW and I don't mind sharing ;) ).

If you can swing the points, a 2BR for four people is a great set up!

We are a family of three, we get the GV.

We went home to VWL 1st time a couple weeks ago and stayed in a studio w/ 10 yr old DD and 8 yr old DS. We determined on that trip next time we would try 1 bedroom. Studio has plenty of space and lots of nice amenities, no complaints, especially since our previous trips had been at The Grovesnor and twice at All Star Sports. Both of those places are nice, especially the All Star but we have gotten past the commando tour of WDW so the extra space would be nice because we are not rushing trying to get out of the room to get to the busses anymore. We have 40 more yrs to see it all, over and over.

With more than two people going in our family we always go to the 2 bedroom. I just can not see having anyone sleep in the living room.

We are a family of 4 as well. Usually we bring my parents along and get a 2BR. When it is just the 4 of us we sometimes get a 1BR and sometimes a Studio but never a 2BR. We often go for two weeks and spend the first week in a Studio and the second in a 1BR. I would prefer to take more frequent trips to WDW in smaller units than one or two big trips in bigger units. (I'm also one of those people who won't use their points on the weekends...but that's another topic! ;) ).

Couldn't agree more! It's soooooooooo nice to have the living room/kitchen area available for those who get up early or stay up late.

We're not quite a family of 4, we are 3 actually, but DS always brings a buddy.

We've used 1 bdrm up to last year, BUT we tried a 2 bdrm this summer and we'll probably never go back, unless we're just really strapped for points. The freedom of not having teenage boys sprawled in the livingroom over breakfast was just too luxurious! Also, they tended to stay up later and it was nice for all of us that their television was playing an extra room away. By the way, these are 19-20 year olds. The situation might be different for you if yours are smaller.

There is usually just the two of us, we get a one bedroom. But every other year, we take my mother and nephew(last time, both nephews) and we get a two bedroom. We like to keep the common area free.

Family of 4 here........ soon to be a family of 5, but we bought in with the plans to stay in a 2 bedroom or larger :)

Family of 3...........we always take a studio to save on points. We're seldom in the room aside from sleeping and changing:D :D ........

When it is just the 2 of us we get a 1BR, if we bring DD and friend we get a 2BR.:D

We are a family of 4, Son - 6 and Daughter - 5, we get a 2 bedroom. I don't like having the living a mess with the pull-out sofa. Our first trip we thought we would try the 1 bedroom since the kids were still young, after a few nights I called the front desk and asked if we could move to a 2 bedroom, luckily one was available. I agree, if it is just 2 of us then a 1 bedroom, when it is the 4 of us, we get a 2 bedroom.

We started with a studio, but with 2 little ones the convenience of a 1br was worth the point add-on we did (well maybe not, but I had to justify my need to add more points)

We are a family of 4. DD is 8 and DS will be 5 in April. We always stay in a 1 br. and do not mind the sofa bed. When they go to bed, we retreat to our room and watch tv there. I am sure that within 2-3 more years we will have to upgrade to a 2 br since the kids will be getting older. Right now the 2 of them in the sofa bed is not a problem. Plus, why spend the points any sooner than we have to???

We are a family of four and we have been happy with a one bedroom. But as my children get older I can see the need to move to a two-bedroom unit.

We have 3 young children. We stayed in a studio over the summer and will never make that mistake again. We then changed to a 2 bedroom and that is the only way to go now. It is nice to spread out and not be on top of each other.:D

We are a family of 5. In Jan, at WDW we will be staying in a studio and a 1BR. When we go to HHI we stay in a 2-BR, as we spend more time in the unit. It really depends on your trip, which days (i.e. weekdays/ends) you go, and how long you want to stay. Generally we stay 1-BR or larger.

We're a family of 4...we haven't tried a 2br for just the 4 of us yet. Our youngest sleeps with us in the big bed and our older child is happy with the sofa. When they get older I can see a 2br becoming more desireable, especially since the kids are 5 years apart in age. I'm sure at a certain point ds won't want to sleep in the same bed as his kid sister. Our kids are still rather small.....so, I'd say in another year or so the kids will share a pull out and in about 5 they'll refuse to sleep in the same bed. We'll just have to see how our points hold out.

We do prefer a 1br over a studio...mainly because of the washer and dryer!

We have only 1 stay at home under our belt, and have decided that any additional stays of more then just my wife and I, we will go to a 2 bdrm.
I am an early riser and if someone is sleeping on the pull-out I have to leave the room so I don't disturb someone. Plus we don't want the mess each morning of having to redo the sofa sleeper.
So watch out DVC it looks like another add-on is coming !!!
