Airtran keeps changing our flight time. Currently we are connecting in ATL with a 45 min layover. But from what DME said, it looks like Airtran will be getting rid of that flight from ATL - MCO.

My only other option (time wise) is MSP - MKE. With a 25 minute layover.

Leaving MSP at 6, getting to MKE at 7, departing at 725 for MCO.

Thoughts??

We are a party of 6...2 kids. Not gate checking anything, each will have a carry on.

Would you do it? Could we do it?

I might have asked this question already b/c I know I had initially thought of taking this flight b/c it means getting into WDW before noon!.

Now it's a real possibility that we will have to do it and I am nervous!

The AirTran terminals are all located within the same Concourse at MKE. The Concourses aren't that big, so you shouldn't have any problems making your connecting flight, as long as the weather is o.k. or there aren't any other unforseen delays in your initial flight. Go for it. The earlier you can get to Disney, the better. :yay:

Are you sure you'll be changing planes? Seems like a short layover, but as PP stated all Airtran flights depart from the same terminal....and it's not very big...

I live in Milwaukee and I love our airport because it is SO small. You won't have any trouble at all!
NOW.....weather on the other hand might be of some concern to you. We are headed down to Disney on Feb. 4th and I always worry about our scary winter weather here!

My sister lives in Msp and just booked that same flight to join us in Orlando in March. The 25 minute layover won't be a problem. Even if you do have to switch planes, it could be all of a 1 minute walk to the next gate. Airtran is VERY fast on getting people on and off the planes in Mke, too.

While not worried about the short layover, sister is a bit less happy with the 6 am departure time. :rotfl: Ironically, we're flying out of Mke the same day but we're booked on Midwest! We'll get to MCO at the same time, just on different planes.

Thanks guys! The terminal map made it look pretty small, but my main concern is getting off the 1st plane in time. I know taxing to the gate, then waiting for the hoards of people to get off can take some time. Plus we will have to do a potty break, I am sure. My kids have weak bladders :rolleyes1

And, scariest of all is the weather. Not sure what to do.....

I wouldn't worry, really. If they have it scheduled that way it must be that you can make it. The bathrooms are 1/2 a minute from any of the gates.

You can easily do it in the time you have. TRUST ME. There isn't much to this airport. Just start worrying about the weather now...LOL

That's exactly where my fear lies, lol! If it were May - Oct - I would have no issue. But who knows what kind of weather MSP or MKE will have in Feb. I just noticed that this same flight (from MKE - MCO) was cancelled today due to the weather. That would make me SOOOOOOOO cranky if that had been us.

We had a blizzard yesterday. Most flights were canceled. That is not very common though.
