I'm thinking about trying them for an evening out. Do they really stay on?

I tried them many years ago. They stayed on, but my eyelids felt like they weighed a hundred pounds each. I found them to be very uncomfortable. I never had a desire to try them again.

I've had success with them staying on, and they aren't uncomfortable for me. My problem is that they just take me forever to put them on. I'd love to wear them everyday because my lashes are thin, but I just don't have an extra 10-15 minutes every morning for putting the darn things on.

Hi--

You should be fine, but here are my tips:

Use a good quality glue, Ardell or Duo are both good. Use a toothpick to apply the glue to the lashes.

Pick a style that is on the lighter end of the choices.

Apply your liner first and then fill in after the lashes are on and dry.

Cut the eyelashes in half and use the end that would be closer to your nose, but placed on the outer edge of your lash line. Practice with this, and then try it on the actual date night!! The other halves will be a bit heavier, and you can use those once you a bit of experience with lashes.

Have fun!

I've never personally worn them, however, I have a lot of experience applying them to my DD for dance competitions. They definitely stay put if applied properly. She doesn't complain about them, so I'm going to guess they are reasonably comfortable.

The trick is to apply them as close to the natural lash line as possible, and allow the glue to air dry for 30 seconds on the lash before applying to your natural lash.

I'd definitely test run them a few times before your big event. They are not easy to apply the first few times. Once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad.

I like putting on false lashes for a special occasion. As someone else mentioned, probably best to practice before your actual evening out. I've never had them come off. Another option is to ask at your hair salon if someone there can put them on for you. My hair stylist only charges me $5 and I am rest assured that they are on correctly:)

My DD17 wears false eyelashes for all her shows and they stay on just fine, even with all her sweating and twirling.

Our dance studio started requiring them on the older girls/women for recital. I wasn't too thrilled at first, but eventually got the hang of it. I even wore them for my DH's Christmas party in 2009 and I felt very comfortable with them.

And I second trying them before the night or event.

If you have a MAC counter near you they have great lashes and they apply them. I wear them sometimes, last year I had a weird eyelash thing going. I had a cowlick thing on one eye :scared1:
