Our family's first trip to WDW :teeth:

Day 2, Monday, April 26 - Epcot, Teppanyaki

Somehow although we got up at 7am and ate breakfast in our room, we got out later than planned. Arrived at Epcot at 945am and immediately headed for Mission Space. The line was pretty short with a 10 minute wait I think. After reading the reviews of Mission Space on the Dis, I was a little nervous about the potential for motion sickness. But I wanted to do it so I had popped a Dramamine with my breakfast just to be sure. My DD wanted to go on the ride too (she wants to do everything big brother can do!) but she was a little scared too. I reassured her that we weren't going any high up (she's got a fear of heights lately) and that it was a spinning type ride (and gee, didn't that thought just make me feel better... NOT!) I was very positive about the ride even though I was wondering if I'd need the barf bag. I warned my family about looking straight ahead and don't close your eyes. The line moved pretty quickly and some people were backing out at the last minute. DD was in the spot to be pilot and I was the navigator. Can't remember what DS and DH were. We got on and I could feel the spinning initially and felt a little dizzy. I just tried not to think about it and concentrate on the screen and having fun. I started to get into it... Wow! This ride is awesome! I loved it! I felt totally fine after the ride (perhaps thanks to my friend Mr Dramamine :p ). We all wanted to do it again but decided we better go on some other stuff first.

Headed over to Test Track which had a short line earlier but now it had a 70 minute wait. Hey let's get a Fast Pass! Hmmm... the return time is between 130-230pm now. What? You mean I was supposed to get FPs BEFORE we went on Mission Space? DOH! Suddenly I felt like the deer in the headlight people who have no clue what they will do at WDW. I felt flustered and wondered whether I was really well prepared after all. Somehow I came back to my senses and we went on Ellen's Energy Adventure with almost no wait. The kids really liked it and I forgot that I had done this with DH when we came in 1994 when I was pregnant with DS. DH reminded me and when I saw the dinosaurs I remembered.

Did the Living Seas next but we had to cut it short to hustle to Japan for our 1pm PS at Teppanyaki. I always love those Japanese steakhouse type places but we don't have one near us right now. I thought it would be entertaining for the kids to see all the slicing and dicing, etc. We were seated with some friendly people and made small talk until our female chef came over to the table. She did some cute tricks with the onion and sesame seeds that the kids liked. You should have seen their faces when she flipped the shrimp tails over at them. It was pretty funny. Since DD is so picky we just ordered one kids meal that had chicken, rice and frozen mixed veggies (ick) between the two of them. DS ate most of the chicken while DD ate most of the rice. DH had chicken while I went for broke and had the steak and shrimp. It was very tasty. A nice meal but this one doesn't include the salad with ginger dressing and that brothy soup I'm used to having at other similar restaurants.

We rushed back to make our 220pm last call for Test Track FP. We later found out that they honor them even after the cutoff. Hey this Fast Pass thing is cool, avoiding all the lines! We all liked TT and had planned to head back to the POFQ pool and swim after that. But since our TT FP had included the "surprise" FP for Honey I Shrunk the Kids at 430pm, we figured we'd hang around for that. Went back to finish up the Living Seas (snuck in the exit since we didn't need to see the whole beginning of it again.) Then we stopped in at Ice Station Cool and tried some of the different soft drinks around the world. Some were tasty and some were yuck!

Took a break with our first Mickey bars :mickeybar . YUM! The kids wanted to do Journey into your Imagination with Figment (they liked, I thought was ok), then it was time for our FPs for HISTA. The movie was very cute.

Headed back to POFQ to swim (not me of course, too busy planning future activities and manning the camera again!). I went to the Sassagoula Food Court and got a very tasty cheeseburger and fries. It takes time since they are made to order but it sure tastes better than McDonald's!

We cleaned up and headed back to Epcot just in time for Illuminations. Found a spot on the bridge in WS and waited for it to start. The show was very impressive and DD now says that was her favorite fireworks type show. We waited for the crowds to thin out and did some souvenir shopping. We said we'd come back later in the week and see WS and do MS again. Got back to the room around 1030pm and hit the sack.

I think I'm falling in love with this place.

Tomorrow: Magic Kingdom, the rain, and we finally get smart about FPs! :)

even more.

thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Sounds like a well planned day. A pool break is always a good idea.
