Fall/Winter 2022 Itineraries

Very different from the first release….
Yep. They saw how people snapped those up and decided to double the prices for the lowest concierge category, apparently. Uh uh. I was not enthusiastic about the Wish's design at first glance, but the low concierge prices the platinum folks got to book for the first release had me interested in sailing her concierge. Not anymore. I don't want to sail the Wish non-concierge because so much of her space is devoted to concierge guests. But I'm not paying those inflated prices for a no-verandah Little Mermaid room, or paying the even higher prices for verandah concierge.

So never mind. We'll just stick with our favorite ship, the Dream. It's easier for us to sail out of Miami, anyway.

I wanted to sail concierge on the Wish just for a Tangled room but honestly, That pricing always makes me ill when I look at it. We usually sail on guaranteed rates anyway so we'd never consider that massive up charge.

The Dream is my favorite of the two larger ships! I love the double dips to castaway that they do.

I agree that the only way I want to sail the Wish (and frankly Dream/Fantasy) is concierge at this point. I don't think the pricing will decrease anytime soon, though, so I'm happy to transfer my Nov 2021 to Nov 2022 for a quick 3 day cruise then stick with the classic ships for a while. That said, a double dip out of Miami sounds pretty tempting!

Interesting Wish choices. I was hoping it was pent p 125% FCC that really drove the bookings. I still do, if Concierge sells slowly then maybe prices come back down. Celebrity's Retreat is looking more and more appealing. Or, even trying Royal Caribbean and Perfect Day.

I looked because we were thinking of doing a b2b in Oct of 22. they are now listing the Golden Oak Club under Platinum status so they can book the same day as Paltinums can for early bookings.

There are still a lot of FCCs out there and DCL is taking full advantage.

Trying not to groan because my cancelled 2020 Magic Halloween Bermuda itinerary where I got a free upgrade to concierge, would be 3-4K more now for the same stateroom, and not even going over Halloween day itself like my previously booked cruise.

OK so I just saw that Halloween day cruise is the one-way from NYC - San Juan instead. Still expensive but it's a 7 nighter. Does Concierge still have to do non-refundable deposits (non-refundable deposits for travel should have gone the way of the dodo after this pandemic but it seems like DCL is holding on strong)

Previously Dream and now Wish would do little for us because of their boring 3-/4-day itineraries. But, with 5 days and a double dip, we might give Dream a second look. Maybe a 9-night B2B.

So... a few interesting things in this release
  • A 7-nighter out of NYC to SJU for Halloween, followed by an actual Southern Caribbean sailing, rather than immediate turnaround
  • After the Southern Caribbean, the Magic is repositioning to Galveston - not Miami. This makes sense given that the Dream is pretty much conducting the traditional mix of cruises that the Magic would have handled there in the past
  • EBPC not released - Could the Wonder stay on the West Coast? Join the Magic in Galveston... or maybe given the theming head to NOLA and spend way more time than usual there?
  • One 8-nighter on the Fantasy
  • The few double dips cruises

Very interesting... I love cruising on the Wonder; curious to see when she's going, I'm hoping that she'll stay on the West Coast.

Hi Y'all
Am I missing Bermuda 2022? I don't see it on the list. Nevermind! I see them!
