That is excellent, DangerMouse! Thank you for posting this. After the bad day I had yesterday, this has boosted my mood. I didn't see your post last night, so it was quite a pleasant surprise to see it today. Those rates are what I was hoping for for either Halloweentime OR Christmastime. I have not yet received the PIN, but I have gotten about 4 other PIN offers from DLR this year and have used none of them, so I assume they will send me this one too. Fantastic! Seeing that the AP rates for October and November are still high, this PIN offer is like a beacon in a stormy sea!

I'm betting we'll see AP rates shortly. Last year the pins came out a week or two ahead of the AP rates and AP8 expires on Sunday. Just for comparison on the pins:

Last year PPH was $159, DLH was $169, and GCH was $259.

That's what I was thinking. AP rates for October and November are probably right around the corner now. What I think I will do is use an AP rate for October if I can, and then book a December room with the PIN (if I get one). Then, when the AP rates for December eventually come out, I will switch to that rate and ditch the PIN offer.

The PIN rates for the same time periods sometimes differ, by the way, TheZue. I have noticed that in the past. Some of us may get the PIN that Callie got, but which lists the PPH as $159 or even $139. It seems like some folks get one rate and then others get something that is $10 higher or lower. I myself got one last year that was $10 more for the PPH than the main one folks had gotten, but my PIN rate was still $10 cheaper than what other people got. I don't know why that is - maybe they figure certain people have spent more or less money on DLR hotels, and so they deserve a higher or lower PIN rate.

There is also the $400 off a 4 night vacation pkg (with 4 day PH) for staying onsite during those same dates.

Crazy! That I never knew...but I always assume I'm never going to see a pin deal lol

Ya I got that email this morning too, but you have to buy the tickets through them as well. But expedia does give you deal on JUST the hotel.

Really! We will have APs next month, so I don't need tickets. Gotta check it out.

I recieved a pin# yesterday, called in compared my ressies. Went online thi a.m. and changed with the 4 night 4 day package. Was able to switch to PPH from Carousel Inn, and 4day instead of 3 day PH, for $105 more. Made my day!!!

What a wonderful pin to be waiting for me in my e-mailbox today! I have a message in to my AAA agent to see if I can use the DLH rate for when we're there in October. Using my very rough calculations, this could save me about $300!! I wish there was a cross-your-fingers smiley!:)

We had already booked our vacation for 5 nights at PPH. So I was extremely glad when we found out about the $400 discount. I may even treat the family to a character breakfast.

hmmmm that would fall right in my October weekend....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm how's the DLH everyone? I've never stayed there......hmmmmmm :) Thanks for sharing DM!

Just got off the phone with my AAA agent and I saved $400 for our package. We'll be there November 18-23. We had a $25 change fee. But I'll spend $25 to save $400 anyday!!!! :cool1:
Thanks so much for sharing!!!!

I sometimes will be mailed pin offers, but not nearly as often as other people. I wonder if one can still obtain these rates, by asking about them at the particular hotel that one is planning on staying at? Any ideas? Thoughts? I figure it could not hurt to call and ask.

TIA

How do you get on the mailing list for these offers?

Ahhh....that is one of the great mysteries of life, my friend....how to get one of the famous PIN code offers that float around a few times a year. And the truth is, none of really know which list Disney Destinations is pulling from when they send out the PIN codes, and we don't really know why some people get them and others do not get them at all. Sometimes a person will get one PIN code offer but not the next one that goes out. For example, I have already gotten at least 4 PIN offers via email or snail mail this year (and have not been able to use any of them), so they may send me this new one to try to lure me in yet again, OR they may figure, "Eh, let's give up on her; she is a lost cause for 2009 because she has not used any of the other ones we sent.":lmao: Many people on the DIS (who are AP holders or regular DLR visitors) have not gotten any of the PINS that have already gone out this year, but maybe they will get this new one that extends to December. There are folks who are NOT AP holders who get the PIN offers. There are people who ARE AP holders who get the PINs. And there are people who have only been to DLR once in the last 5 years who get the PINs, while people who stay onsite every time at one of the 3 hotels have never seen a PIN. And then many, many other folks are inexplicably skipped. There is no rhyme or reason to it that we can see.

But logic would tell us that, clearly, Disney Destinations is pulling names from some sort of master database or from several individual lists. So it is better to get on as many lists as possible so they become aware of you and know who you are. If they don't have your contact info, they can't send you anything. So if you have not done so already, create a My Disneyland account on the DLR website and enter in all your contact info. Also, sign up for the travel DVD or any info on the Cruise Lines. Also, contact the Walt Disney Travel Company and ask for them to send you the (free) 2009 books for DLR, WDW and the Cruise Line and get on that list. I, personally, think that my contact info was obtained when I stayed at the GCH in December 2007. The reason I think this is because I booked a package through the WDTC and they made a specific mistake on my GCH reservation and put my friend's name as being the main name on file, rather than mine. So now, many of the PIN offers that I get are not in my name, but instead are in my friend's name, sent to my email address!! I have gotten some that are in my name this year, so it seems maybe those are coming from a different list, possibly when I registered my birthday info this year??

What did the email title say? Just hoping I might have one somewhere...
thanks

The email was from "Disney Destinations" and the title says:

"Enjoy Special Hotel Savings this Fall at the Disneyland (R) Resort"

The body of the email is pretty much summed up in my original post.

The only emails I've received from Disney Destinations have been offers for WDW!!!! I wanted this one so bad too!! :( I got the last one but not this new one. :(
