Fall FP+ availability is awful!

I was able to get everything I wanted (except A&E), including SDMT on two different days. We are going Oct 17-22. Haven't decided if I'll keep trying for A&E, go SB, or just skip it altogether. We're heading back late spring/early summer 2016, so I'm not overly concerned.

Last year i waited until i had a&e and 7dmt settled before booking the rest. I had hoped to avoid that this year. FP+ consumed my life for like a month

I spent everyday for 2 months check on FP+ to see the parade. Finally two weeks before the trip got it. Night before, a thunderstorm was predicted so the BC concierge changed it to something else. Just as a coincidence we were coming in as the parade started, we were able to sit right next to the FP+ area because, being FL, who is kidding who, they can't predict an hour in advance.

So anyway, when we came back, I had to stop myself from checking the the website it was such a habit.

I can't even read this whole thread. I am so over this trip and wishing we hadn't even started to plan it. Getting ADRs has been a nightmare and now people are having trouble with FP availability. What is the perk of staying on property if you can't get the ADRs or FP+ you want at the start of your booking window? I'm sorry if I sound so angry, but it this trip has been so much harder to plan than past years and I am having a hard time justifying the cost in comparison to the effort I have to put into this.

Yep! Instead of WDW last Easter is was nice to just VACATION somewhere else. My sister and her family want to come down with us next Easter and I just put in the mail a 7 point list of things she has to do. The thought of trying to get 9 ADR's and everyone's FP+ during a time when they all the days are 10 out of 10. Easter of 2014 was such a disappointment compared to years past.

Every year, without fail, people complain that October is going to be out of control busy. I just don't believe it. Even with some schools moving to year-round calendars or giving fall breaks, the vast majority of people

God I hope you are right. We will be there Oct 18-24. I haven't been since 2009 and for months all I've read about is how busy October is now.

Same. After this vacation I'm done with Disney. Its just not worth it anymore. Not talking about dollars as much as I am all the stupid pre planning.

Weird, today was my FP+ day and I had no issues getting the reservations/times I wanted. I moved A&E back a day because of the lack of availability, but I had no problem getting it the next day. No problems getting Wishes either -- for multiple days.

When I booked at 11 pm CT (so my window opened today, too), A&E was gone for our entire stay. October 24th was the first day they would have been available, but we leave that morning so that's a no-go. My stay is October 18-24.

Bummer, we are there late Sept/early Oct this year and got 7DMT each of our 3 days at MK, and A&E on the only day I tried for it. I was up at midnight at 60 days though... I'm sure that helped.

Man this sounds crazy... a 7 day trip should be on the long end of a vacation but it sounds like everything is booked 7+ by the time the window opens. Are that many people really going long enough to use the full +10?

Keep checking if you don't get what you want right away. My trip is October 9-13 and at first I couldn't get 7DMT for the 9th. I just snagged it a couple of days ago! I was also able to get all of my ADRs after working at in a bit, including Be our Guest and The Crystal Palace. Don't give up, keep checking!

This is just a vent. And I'll say first that i love fp+ . But man. I have watched the DIBB posting all summer helping friends plan last minute trips, and generally, at 60 days out you could get 7 dmt for a group, or A&E for at least one day of your trip. And Wishes and MSEP were there quite often!

I can only get 7dmt for singles, can't get a single one for the others. It is crazy how much worse it is. It is painful! I hate the heat, so i'll happily trade fp availability for Oct weather but it still sucks I was hoping this year would be a little better than last!!

I hear you on your vent. We had a similar experience last fall. It seems like this might be the new pattern for fall FP+ availability, seeing as how it seems to be repeating as it did last year. Short hours + party nights (Seems to) = less FP+ availability overall.

You'll still have a fantastic trip, I'm sure! But you definitely aren't alone in venting about this

The ONLY thing booked more than four days out was A&E. MSEP had unavailability for a few days into the 60-day window. But FoF and Wishes were wide open, same with SDMT.

Just be patient. Things will begin to open up.

They didn't open up for us last year. I hope it does happen for people going this year, but I wouldn't be relying on it.

I think it's about to get even worse, I just got a killer discount in the mail for early october that is almost can't pass up. Running numbers really quick, it makes the room at a moderate for 6 nights practically free. It's a room/ticket combo. We're not going to jump on it since we're switching to AP next week when we arrive but it's really tempting as we do love halloween and the price is killer.

I have a split stay- first night at one hotel (and the 6 day tickets added to that) and the remainder of the trip staying DVC with rented points. Can I make FP+ for the duration for my trip 60 days from check in date of first resort?

OK, that makes sense. Who knew that going from a 7 day trip to a 6 day could have such a big impact?! Had I just not shortened my stay until after the 60 day mark, we would have had A&E on the 23rd as planned (I was originally booked for October 17-24, but dropped the first day a few weeks ago).

What really surprised me was that there was no FP+s even for ONE. On prior trips, even when booking for 4 at the same time was impossible, I had tons of luck just booking one at a time. More time consuming, but still.

If anyone believes October is busy show up in July, on Easter, Christmas or Thanksgiving. It's not even close. The prime stuff is going to be tough to get any time of the year. A&E (snore) TSMM (love it, but it's always there on FP+) Space (snore again) but if you're going in OCT then most likely F&W is the main reason so enjoy the party and we will see you there!
