Well, gang.....it's almost here! Autumn! AND FALL FLOWERS!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'm a real lover of all chrysanthemums....the pretty yellow, perky ones, the daisy-like ones, the bronzy colors! I just enjoy all that color so late in the season.....

I do have another fave besides chrysanthemums, though....Montauk Daisies....these shrubs have fleshy leaves and huge flowers that open in the fall. It's like having a taste of spring all over again....

Anyone else a fan of fall flowers????

I luv Montauk daisies! I like all the fall flowers but they are my pic of the best:) Unfortunately mine aren't as happy this year as they have been in past. Because of the drought I'm prob fussing over them too much. I think I have to ignore them.:p

Montauks are a fav of mine too. Don't think mine are going to bloom this year though, just got them in late spring.

I bought 2 mums yesterday, will pot them up for the porch.

I like the mums...
I need to get some ideas here...
Curious to see what everyone posts..

Ya know, I have 2 other fall favorites.....at least they bloom in fall like weather around here.

One is physostegia (obedient plant)

It's a dandy combination that blooms in September for me!

We planted 4 pots of mums last weekend. One was to fill in a bare spot where my Obedient plant was not doing what it was told to, growing nicely!! Last year they were fine, very obedient.... :)

My mums that I planted last year have about grown to 5 times their original size. I am just totally dumbfounded. They have gotten so huge and have overtaken some spots to the point that I'm going to have to move some plants next year so that we can at least see them!!!!!! I LOVE mums though!

LOL!

I love the late summer rose blooms and the second round on my marguerite daisies. :)

The fall mums are always one of my favorites. I love the autumn shades, especially the gold, maroon and rust colors. Although I was thinking of not putting any in this year. The drought has been so bad.

With the recent rain all day Saturday and looks like rain all day today, maybe I'll reconsider.

I never have much luck with mums coming back, they do not winter well in my area. Need to add new ones each year.

Hopefully I'll be looking for some color to add to this Fried, Burned out yard seeing we are finally getting some rain.

I saw at Home Depot yesterday Icicles pansies. Said to bloom now until snow and again in Spring. I kinda remember something being posted about these flowers last year but I forget what was said. Should I have picked some up?

Asters are great too. Every morning when I go into work I have to water the plants outside that I have for sale. Beautiful asters, mums in every color, dianthus, and of course pansies. Around here my dianthus in my beds can bloom all winter long. We are just far enough south that they usually stay green all winter. My mums are just now starting to bloom. I noticed tonight when I was watering my stuff that my geraniums are beautiful again. Nice bright full blooms. You can tell it has cooled off.
