Fall/Fall Advantage 2008

What's going on with the FA applicants, has anyone recently been accepted to the FA program??? Maybe their back-up (assuming) This wait is a killer, been almost 3 weeks!!! Guess I go study for a mid-term!!!!:)

I just applied for the College Program (I'm going to go for Fall Advantage). I still have to schedule my telephone interview (I'm calling tomorrow), but I am excited. I am also going for a PI.

I'm trying to figure out which roles I want for the CP. I think I want Attractions, Merchandise, and I am trying to pick between Hospitality or Character Attendant. I can't decide! Do I have to choose three?

Aww, I hope you do get your PI. I know how much you want it.

As for roles, you can pick as many/little as you want. I do recommend Character Attendant though. It's so much fun!

Good luck with the PI!

I wanted to the Imagineering and Guest Relations PIs soooo badly, but I was already graduated, so it was pretty much a no go :-( I guess I'll have to work from the ground up...which isn't bad in regards to GR, but for Imagineering...yikes! ...We'll see what happens!

I would love to do a PI. But unfortunately I won't have a car with me. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to "make do" with another CP.

I have to buy a car when I get stateside again...as mine was sold because it couldn't sit, undriven, in the Chicago area for a year. With what, I don't know--I also need to secure an apartment...eek. If I could work for a month or so without a car, I'd be fine, but I really don't know I'm going to pull that off! :confused3

Completely unrelated to this thread, but if you don't mind me asking, are you in Germany for work or studying abroad or something like that?

No, I don't mind you asking at all. I am actually working just south of Munich as an au pair (nanny of sorts) for a year. I'm also a semi-professional magician, so I came to Germany to work on new material with some of the great minds here that I have admired from afar for many years. My friends have been making jokes about "Mary Poppins--the magical nanny" haha...

Anyhow, I am taking German courses, though, so hopefully, I'll master the language before I come back. After my CP finished, and the need to start paying back my loans arose, I didn't know what I should do. I went home again for a few months and decided I just needed to get away, figure myself out, and decide what I wanted out of life. I had always wanted to live in Europe, so I'm here...it's lovely...I'll miss it, but I know that I want to go back to FL and Disney... I'm still going to do magic, and probably get my teaching license, but Disney is definitely supposed to be a part of my life! :-)

How did you get the au pair job? That sounds like a good experience!

It's great... I found my host-family through GreatAuPair.com, or rather they found me. One member of the party has to pay a membership fee to access contact info on the site, but you can view all profiles and add everyone that interests you to your hotlist. I didn't pay because I figured if the searching family were too cheap to pay a membership fee then I didn't want to be with them. People in our peer group are seldom with a surplus of money, so what can they expect?!

Anyhow, after a week or so this family, among MANY, began contacting me. I wasn't really interested at first--they don't live where I wanted to be and they had 2 boys, plus one is a baby. But, they kept emailing and told me that the elder son loves Disney and magic...he had seen some of my photos from my CP and decided that I was the one he wanted. We wrote back and forth and talked on the phone a few times before we made any decisions. They won :-) They are the best family I could imagine getting for this! I feel very fortunate for the opportunity...

If you have any more questions about this, feel free to pm/email me.

And now, back to the regularly scheduled Fall 2008 CP thread... ;)

i recently got in to it but i called and found out, cuase i had a question about everything.

Hopefully, my acceptance will come soon!!!! Getting kind of worried, I think it is past my 3 weeks point, is at 3 weeks after the interview or receiving paperwork. I didn't mail my paperwork to a week later.
