We have been going to MCO from AUS for several years in late September. I have 'played chicken' with SWA for the last couple of years and got fares right at $200 including all taxes with in the last couple of weeks before travel. This year I have a bunch of Delta $$, right now prices are running about $400 per ticket. I don't know if I should wait it out or grab what's there now.

Any suggestions?

I'm looking for mid-October and am planning to wait at least until SWA posts their schedule and fares, which probably will be in early- or mid-May based on when they have had those dates out in prior years. AA is our only other option and currently is running at $350+ for the dates and times I want, but they usually drop fares to match SWA. Their current "sale" runs through 8/24 just like SWA's schedule, not coinicidentially.

Beyond that, I'm not a big one to play chicken especially if I think the most I'll save is less than $50 per ticket.

We fly AUS to MCO each summer and it seems as if SWA prices have been getting higher. We flew Delta direct to MCO from AUS last June using miles, but it was a SMALL jet and I don't know if I'd do that again.
