Only a 7 hr flight ......

New yorkers are complaining about a 2 hr flight.

well I'm Australian so it takes 14 hours to get to LA, and around 20 to get to Orlando, that's after taking 6 hours to even get to Sydney from where I live. When you're an Aussie you're used to long haul flights, my kids love them! So 7 hours is a "quick trip" for us IMO.
There was another post in here complaining about the "long trek" from North LA to San Diego, from my perspective it's hilarious the way Americans complain about the distance of things compared to what us Aussies are just used to.

over $4k for a family of four for a three night itinerary on a 15 year old ship!

I wish them luck....

I think DCL is in major trouble long term personally....

Also as an Aussie, paying $1K+ a night is pretty normal for a Disney Cruise, the dollar conversion makes it so much more expensive. I'm paying around AU$4200 for a 4n cruise on the Adventure next year for a family of 4.

Me neither but as a Vancouver local I am going to cross my fingers that we might see some decent last minute deals.

We’re going to book the 4 night Van to SD on the Magic in Sept 2026. We asked our kids if they wanted that or Disneyland and it was the cruise hands down. We did this itinerary in March 2024 and it was fun but also very cold and rocky. The weather is better for it in September.

We are bummed, too, but can’t put off Europe again. Running out of time with DD. So happy that Europe tends to be so port intensive. We won’t have time to miss what we love about the other ships. Still worried about lack of storage in the staterooms. Maybe we will pack light since the Wish has such an amazing laundry room.

I never say never. It would have to be an itinerary that is completely different.

As long as the ships sail full it really doesn't matter how they got there. Cruise demand is slowing from post pandemic levels, but it still semi robust. I think the all inclusive factor has a lot to with that. As mediocre as cruise food is at least it's included. Eating out these days is insane.

The data doesn’t support your assertion that cruise demand slowing. 34.6mm in 2024, which was a 9% increase from 2023. 2025 projected at 37.7. Projecting over 39mm next year. Demand is still increasing.

It seems they learned from the most recent PC sailings that there is room to charge more...

I'm actually starting to wonder if not all the concierge rates are loaded in... For example, Disney Dream sailings next Fall frequently show a delta from verandah to concierge like $6,545 vs. $20,648
or
$6,516 vs. $21,328
for a family of four

I guess will see how that pans out over the next few years, and we can revisit this. Nothing ever increases indefinitely. Markets don't work that way.

I can assure you the people paying those concierge prices are not driving that kind of car...

WBPC in 2027 is about 1000k more than we paid for the WBPC 2020 when we booked it in 2018, which, given the way prices have increased for everything in the 7 years since then doesn’t seem that egregious overall.

However I don’t think the PC will sell out the way the 2026 did. When the 2026 became available to book, there hadn’t been a PC in a while which definitely contributed to people thinking that it was now or never. Now there are two more of them on the schedule. That should decrease the panic.

And I do think Disney is going to have increasing problems getting people to pay full price. US tourism is down overall, affordability is a problem and they have more ships to fill.

The total price for the WBPC 2027 isnt awful but the concierge price seems really steep even for DCL (but maybe it was always that bad for PC sailings). I also agree that with two more on the schedule it will help with demand

Nevermind I thought you meant WBTA. I've never done a panama cruise.

The WBTA is worse 26k for concierge. I've done one WBTA and we were dodging a hurricane the whole cruise. TA 's during hurricane season are supposed to be cheap. We paid 3k for an inside room. Now they are 5100. That's not terrible, but it is an inside room.

I think the concierge pricing makes sense. The top income group in this country is off the charts. I think DCL concierge v. Standard pricing mimics our current socioeconomics at large.

We were disappointed to see that DCL really hasn’t expanded 7 day options much. I don’t get it. They obviously are having trouble filling their mini cruises.
