Fall 2023 Time Change

One of the 2 times each year you realize how many things you own that tell time and have to be manually reset.............LOL. The reality is there are fewer daylight hours this time of year, so artificially manipulating the clock doesn't 'save' anything. Now it will get dark at 5 pm, so you have to turn the lights on sooner.

{{raises hand}} I'm here in Mountain Time Zone and it's apparently only 4:17 am. :( I had a very taxing week and was beat last night, so I unwisely went to bed early, forgetting about the time change. I'm a robotic 6 hour a night sleeper; I just can't seem to get more hours at one time no matter what I do. So, here we are. At least I should have no problem being on time for church today. :upsidedow

My kid woke up at 5:45, which is actually later than I thought he would. He came into my room a little before 6 to ask if Santa had come. (We decorated yesterday, and he is almost four and still doesn’t understand the concept of time. It’s gonna be a long Christmas season!)

Hoping he can make it to normal bedtime tonight.

I know there was something in congress about not having to change clocks anymore I forget the name of it that passed in the House but is waiting on approval from the Senate. I wish that would happen already. It always takes our dog time to adjust and on top of that she will be upset later as her day will already be thrown off since we are going to the football game and will not get home until about 6 pm and usually her dinner is at 4:00 pm. Last time we went my DM was dog sitting and fed her around that time but when we got home my DH took her on a walk and we believe she somehow thought it was her usual walk and dinner time and that we skipped feeding her so she kept whining until we got the idea of giving her a snack of carrots and bananas to see if she would eat them. She hated the bananas but ate some of the carrot pieces.

We got up to take the dogs out around 7:30 and then went back to bed. Currently lounging with an espresso and listening to Weekend Edition Sunday on NPR while I surf the web. I love my Sunday morning rituals.
