Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Last night I told my daughter, 'We're only 184 days out!!'. Her face looked shocked and she said 'Thats forever!!'.

So I checked for September again, but I couldn't find anything, so I will be living vicariously through y'all's travels!!!!

Does anyone have special nights planned when you reach 100 days, 90 days, etc.? I read about a family who celebrated each 10 days starting at 100 days. They would watch a Disney movie and have a dinner themed to the movie. I think I will try it for this trip. Especially since it is so close to Christmas also. The excitement will be over the top, lol. The grandmunchkins will be excited too!
I'm telling my kids at 100 days! We are at 169 now...

We are 111 days out today. DD writes the number each day on a princess chalkboard I found in the dollar bin at target. I remember when it was 156 one school morning, it was freezing in the kitchen and she had her winter coat on, and she kept mixing up the 5 and the 6 and it took so long for her to fix it (she's in kindergarten) that she almost missed her ride and on her way out the door she said lets just take off the 1 and make it 56 days instead. I laughed and said there will still be a 1 for a loooong time! But it's still triple digits and its 100 degrees here and feels like a year since that happened. MOVE FASTER, TIME!!!

I was thinking of doing something every Friday for the month before but every 10 days starting at 100 days sounds more fun! I was also thinking we would do a themed movie night every week! We could watch "Dumbo" and have a menu of circus themed food, snacks and crafts. "Finding Nemo" with fish shaped food etc. I have decided against serving them actual fish when watching this movie though because I think they would feel like they were eating Nemo's friends, LOL!

So many people chatting about this so I'm not going to quote everyone but we did Disney movie nights before our last trip and have done a few this year already. We don't do anything too elaborate because with a two year old you don't need much but I wanted her to have at least seen all the movies of characters she could meet while we were there last time. I really enjoy them!

:rotfl2: Tonight I'm going to have to go through my Disney movie collection and start making plans.

I was also thinking about doing a count down calendar the month before we leave. Kinda like the ones that count down to Christmas but have a fun Disney surprise for each day. Just little things like Disney stickers and small toys or candy. On the last day I wanted to surprise all 3 with a Disney gift card each that they could use at Disney!

Once our trip is booked, we make a Disney calendar. I buy scrapbook paper that coordinates with each month and we put Disney stickers on everyday leading up to the trip (castle or fireworks for the day we leave). I label ADR day with a list of ADR's to make and I label FP day. I use to cover the days and let the youngest peel the cover off, but now she just marks them with a pen.

I love that idea! I already have lots of Disney scrapbook paper from our last trip I can use.:)

My brother starts a Sunday countdown from the day he books. He watches one Disney movie every sunday. I have friends who also do movies and a dinner theme.

I don't think I could keep the secret, although I surprised my daughter twice when she was young.

That's so sweet!!! My daughter is 32 and she knows were going in December, so it made me laugh when she said it was SO long.

Ok, here's my secret. The boys made the request to eat at Coral Reef. I'm not sure I can enjoy my meal there, lol. I really want the mahi dish, so hopefully we will be close enough to the tank that the boys won't pay attention when I order lol.

This is a great idea!! I'm going to get the grandmunchkins a Visa gift card each, so this would be a fun way to do it!!! Thanks!
