Aloha! I have the privledge, in the fall of 2015, to take my mom on a road trip from Washignton state ending in Disneyland and universal studios. I've been a few times but this trip will be no kids, just me and my mom! So I'm hoping you all can help me with a few things:

1. Our date choices are either mid September or the week before Thanksgiving week. WE plan to get a 5 day park hopper. Low crowds and affordable on site rates are the biggest priorities and neither of us are big on Halloween. Dapper day rates are up for September 2015 and I've reserved a room from 9/13-9/24 at $209/night . This way I can cancel if need be, and cut down the days at least but won't miss out either! Would you recommend Sept or November?

2. Will Christmas decorations be up by the week before Thanksgiving week?

3. Is that rate of $209/night for the Disneyland Hotel the best I'm going to get? Are there comparable rates in November?

4. Lastly, we are 44 and 68yo respectively. Perfectly capable of going all day although my mom has some limits on how long she can walk at a quick pace. Do you have any recommendations on how we create a flow for our days? And anything we should see or do that we might have skipped when we had kids in tow?

This board has always been a wealth of information for me and I thank you heartily for it! Mahalo!

1. I prefer November, as September can still be very hot. Two years ago when we went mid-September, it was 108 degrees one day. That makes for a miserable park day, in my opinion. November should bring cooler temps.

2. Yes.

3. I would be astonished if you found a rate lower than $209 for the Disneyland Hotel.

4. Hard to say. Everyone has their own ideas for how best to see the parks.

I'm sorry to thread jack but I've asked this question a couple times without a clear answer. Where do you purchase dapper day DLH tickets? If they are available now for sept. 2015 I would love to look into it now. Thanks!

Never mind, I figured it out. I trust you guys so much for DLR info, I sometimes forget google exists. :/

3. $209 for the DLH is an amazing rate. Book it! That rate meets your priority of affordable on-site hotel rates.

4. To take a break from walking during the day, you may want to consider having table service reservations for lunch. Cafe Orleans and Wine Country Trattoria are our two favorites, but Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, and Carthay Circle are other choices to consider. You can find their menus on the DL website. We use Pirates, Aladdin, and Animation Academy classes as other entertaining ways to get off of our feet. Hit the E-ticket rides in the morning and use Fastpass throughout the day to maximize the flow of your day.

How wonderful to be able to have this mother-daughter trip. Enjoy!
