Fall 2007 College Program

You are not going to believe this guys. I went to my mailbox and the envelope was there. I was so excited I could barely make it into the house to open it. It said I was accepted for quick service food and beverage. I did not even select that. In the interview he asked if I would be interested in that position and I said no. I worked many times in fast food and know that I would be so miserable in that position. If they do not change it I will have to decline. I want to be in operations or vacation planning or even something like that. Well I called and the line went straight to the answer machine so I don't know my fate yet. Wish me luck. I really want to experience this program but that position was probably the last one I would have picked second to custodial (because I have a weak stomach)

im actually from Rhode Island, i just go to school in boston....I live in Newport, and I know exactly where seekonk is, small world haha

I just got accepted for Custodial in the Fall Program. I'm so excited and can't wait. I ripped open the letter with a vengence! I jumped up and down, screaming like a little girl! I can't believe the letter came within 2 weeks, I figured it would be 3 or longer. And I got my #1 role, which was Custodial. Will be fun to meet you all down there

zada82, That's weird that they gave you QSFB when you didn't even want it. So on your role checklist you checked off Operations and Vacation Planning? Did you check off anything else?

I do!! I actually am 33 years old!! I know it sounds crazy but I used to perform professionally and didn't go to school right away. so, a few years ago I decided to go to get my degree and I graduate this May from University of Tennessee with a degree in Marketing and International Business. I probably wouldn't have picked to do CP at this age but my recruiter said to get in with Disney you basically have to start here...so here I go!! But I will live in my own housing so I have to go find some!! There will be four of us...me, my two kids, and my fiance. Do you know where you will be living Zada?? BTW-I followed the other thread about the PI's and I was crushed for you!! they will see what a mistake they made!!

I talked to someone else in recruiting because my recruiter is out until Monday. He said that they usually don't make this kind of mistake. He is going to find my original paperwork with my selections on it and e-mail my recruiter to give him a "heads-up" so that he can attend to it Monday morning. I asked if this means that I am not accepted yet because I have to be reconsidered for the other roles. He said no. I'm not sure what is going to happen but I am a grown-up going to work for basically nothing so it needs to be a position that I am going to enjoy or I would rather wait. It sounds like everything will be just fine though. He seemed really concerned for my feelings and was really sorry for the mix-up. I just hate that I got an acceptance and I am still playing the waiting game.

Wow!! It's like you know me. Anyway if you know me as far as Disney is concerned, you know me because Disney is me. Me and my two daughters are going to drive down there tomorrow, for the night, to Pop Century so they can go swimming and play for a while. I am 31 (32 in April) and I have two kids. I could have finished school when I was younger but I was single for some time and had to work two jobs. Also, I am a firm believer that children need their parents at home and that I had to wait until mine were older before I got to overwhelmed with myself. My kids are now 11 and 6. I still think they are too young to be without me alot but I have had a boyfriend for four years now and he is a great help so that I can begin to have a little life of my own again. Disney is going to be a great way to relieve a little stress and enjoy some time out of the house without worry. We are looking to live in Windemere, Wintergarden, or Ocoee. They seem to have the best schools and decent neighborhoods. It's close enough to Disney but not in the middle of the tourist areas. We haven't found a place yet but we are looking already. We were moving in June regardless of whether I went to the College program or not.

I will be there in 2 weeks to start looking!! do you have any suggestions?? We are going to get an appt. to start to make sure it all works out down there and if it all goes well we will buy a house!! ME and you should keep in touch! Good luck getting your role changed! Just to let you know though, the role checklist does state: "Please read all role descriptions carefully. Check the boxes of the roles you are interested in pursuing. Please note, you may be considered for additional roles."

Maybe that is how you could have been put in that role, if it was not a mistake?

Hey! I am graduating in May and thinking about applying for the Fall 07 program. I am going to grad school full time soon and so I can stay on my mom's insurance company, but I do not know how the CP will effect that. Does anyone know anything about how the CP works with insurance, if it is just the same as when you are taking classes like normal?

I am going to sign up for the Fall College Program, from Aug-End of the Year. My school has presentations/interviews in April. I CANT WAIT!! I've never been to WDW before, just DL a bunch of times. I will be 22 by the time I get there, Im glad to see a lot of others the same age just signing up!

Guess what? I talked to my recruiter today and he switched me to Operations. I am so glad. I may be wearing a funny costume but I am going to have so much fun doing it. Well I guess everything worked out for me. I can't go online and accept or anything until later tonight or something because he has to change the information. I write back then.
