Fake Uggs

My DD is 12 turning 13 soon and she has gone through 2 pairs of Uggs already! She is just rough with her shoes and both pairs ripped and were ruined within a couple of months of her having them. With the first pair I thought it was just a fluke so I bought her another pair. When she ruined those I told her I will not buy her another pair. I just went to Famous Footwear, they are online too, and got a pair of Bear Paws for her for $50. I did have a 20% off coupon though. She loves them! I personally have real Uggs, 4 different kinds and I love them and live in them in the winter.

For anyone who has a problem with their Uggs, call the company (number on their website) they will replace or give you a credit towards a new pair because they shouldn't be ripping (just tell them that your 2 month old Uggs have a rip in them). You can also submit your request online and they will get back to you. I've had to do this twice over the past 10 years that I have owned Uggs and both times I was given a credit for a new pair. You will need to mail your Uggs to them so they can examine them. Obviously you need to purchase them from a reputable source since their are alot of fakes on Ebay, I wouldn't even attempt to return a pair purchased from Ebay because of this. They don't ask for a receipt or anything though but if you send a fake pair in they will know (even if you didn't).

I don't think of Emus as fake Uggs. They're nicer (IMO!) and often more expensive.

I have Target fake Uggs that I got last Black Friday. They are $20 boots--good enough to slip on to go to the mailbox, but not great.

I have a pair of Ugg boots I got for Christmas 2yrs ago, I'll still wear them but they stretched out so much they are really too big on me now. I just bought a pair of Ugg style boots at Costco, I guess they would be considered the Ugg tall. They were like $36 or something. Made of Australian shearling, made in China, just like the Ugg brand. They look and feel exactly like the Ugg brand. It hasn't been cold enough to wear them outside yet to see if they do as good a job at keeping my freezing cold feet warm and toasty.

I actually find the Costco "Uggs" to be of better quality than the real deal! I have 2 pairs of real Uggs, and 2 pairs of the Costco version - on both pairs of real Uggs, the fur has worn off the heel, and there is a tear near the toe of one pair. The Costco boots that I paid $37 for 3 years ago are still in great shape!

My daughter had a pair of EMUs and I returned them because they stretched way too much after only two wearings. Has anyone had experience with the BearPaws stretching?
