Hey everybody. I'm having a little issue and I needed a good vent. DFi and I are both allergic to flowers, me especially to lilies, which are my favorite flower. We had planned on using tiger lilies for our wedding but I was getting worried because my mom has some at her house and my allergies are way worse than I remember. Well a non intentional find at AC Moore (craft store) left with with a very nice bush of silk tiger lilies. I thought they looked great (better than the real ones to me) so I bought them and we have been playing around with them.
Yesterday DFi and I committed to having the fake flowers for our wedding and went out and bought 25 bushes. I was feeling great and then feeling even better because they were 80% off in the summer clearance! I spent only $75 for all my florals(just the flowers); centerpieces, bouquets, ceremony, cocktail hour. I'm going to use some other flowers around as well, but the lilies are the main flower. I bought a few of the fall flowers to play around with and my mom ended up making exactly what I wanted for bridesmaids bouquets.
Heres where I got upset. I take my lovely bouquet to show my dad only to have him profess his undying hatred for it. Not only does he hate the fact that we are using fake flowers but he hates the color orange!! I was floored. I was so upset I just had to walk away. He hates the orange and he has previously said he hates that I'm using brown too. I'm not going to change anything, I love it all to death and so does DFi. I just don't know how to handle this. My dad is very supporting and it kills me that he doesn't like my stuff. I told him at least he'll get nicer colors and real flowers at my sister's wedding (shes getting married 6 months before me).
I feel much better now
