Fairytale Package Question

I am hoping someone here can give me a few answers or educated guesses.

We weren't planning on going to DisneyWorld until next year (we were just there last summer) but with this new package out it is really too good a deal too miss. I think our package last year cost twice the amount of the one I am looking at now.

Since this wasn't planned for first I need to come up with the money. We could go in August but won't have the money for it until mid-july when I will recieve a bonus from my job. Which means I won't have the money before Disney's 45 day policy is up

I could also possibly go in October but DH is in the military and doesn't have his orders quite yet for October so that is really iffy.

So i have two questions ......

1. If I book the vacation now for October , recieve my bonus check , will Disney (space avaialable) switch our reservation back to August ? (I know it is risky but just an idea ....)

2. If i book the vacation for October and DH's orders come through and we aren't able to make it until later in the year - will Disney add extra money to our package since the fairytale packe is only valid until a certain time or will we only be assessed the regular penalty fees and owe them the same amount of money

Sorry to make it so confusing. i think now I have been bit with the bug wether I am able to book with Disney or not. We may just have to priceline it ...if worse comes to worse ...thanks for all of your help !!

Hi. I have been driving my DH crazy with all my planning for our second trip to WDW. The FTP is good through 10/30/03. We booked for mid Sept. and our balance is due last day of July. We've never had a problem with changing our dates in the past so I don't see why you couldn't move dates up (providing you are willing to be moved - that always is a possibility). This package was just too good for us to pass up. The only thing that isn't easily changed are airline tickets! (They want an arm and a leg and another arm and....) Hope this helps!

I got a quote from dreams unlimited and there policy is you pay in a few days the whole amount. I then checked with our local travel companies to see if they book this package etc. Yes they do and you dont have to pay it all upfront. Might be worth checking into where you live.

Is the FTP a better deal than the SOG price at the CR and the 99$ tickets Disney is offering the military? We just got back and hotel and tickets for our family of five was under 1100...just a thought.

You got a great deal. I believe that your deal with SOG is cheaper. However this resort is only for military, so enjoy the great deals you can get!!

A correction to what one poster said about Dreams Unlimited payment on the FTP. Their payment policy is identical to Disney's - $200 deposit due within 10 days of booking, balance of package due 45 days before arrival.

I am sorry for the confusion. I just booked the FTP and was told that my payment in full was due by sunday. I dont even have the paperwork yet. They did not request I put a deposit down just informed me that my payment in full was due by sunday. I have always booked through disney and made my deposit and then paid in full upon arrival. So my mistake, I am assuming that it is due in full as we are planning to go the first part of Aug.

I would check into it before actually doing it just to make sure of all the particulars BUT if you get a disney credit card you can put your trip on it and it would be interest free for 6 months which could give you the time to get your bonus.
