Has anyone here used the fairy godmothers babysitting service? Anybody you would particularly recommend? My youngest will be 1-1/2 in December and I'm nervous about leaving him (oldest is 4). At the same time, I would like to enjoy the Candlelight Processional and I don't see my VERY ACTIVE 1 year old sitting through that. I just can't decide - trust a stranger or hold squirmy child........

The CP is really more child friendly than you would think. The lights and the music will really catch a little one's attention. It does really not last too long and it's outside so that helps too. A few specail snacks and a little luck should get you through. If you are not comfortable with a sitter, don't feel you can not take your little one to CP.

I used them last year and they were great --- came to my room, watched my 2 year old and his 2 year old buddy and we parents went out. It will cost you a little bit, though, and I'm not sure she played with them, just watched some TV, but I felt OK leaving him with her. We had Vera......nice older lady, brought some toys and let him take them to bed (we pried them out of his little hands before she left)

We had Vera too and she definitely played with our kids! Took them to the playground at our resort--with our permission--made dinner, colored pictures, built with blocks, drove race cars and read tons of books-both ours and hers! At the time our kids were 1, 2, and 6. The older two wanted to know where she was and when she was coming back when they woke up the next morning.

Does anybody hear remember Vera Lynn? Actually her name is Vera Kennedy, but I get that Pink Floyd song in my head every time I here the name Vera....

We had Vera in October of 2002. She did crafts with our girls and they were in their glory! They love crafts. She brought coloring pages and foam stickers and paper plates to stick them on, etc...All three kids were happily asleep when we got back from dinner. We weren't gone long. We were nervous about leaving them (at home only family watches them) but had heard many good things about the Fairy Godmothers.

Good luck in your decision.
