Fairy Godmother vs Kids Night

Hi!

I am wondering which service everyone who has used in room babysitting prefers. Has any one used one, not been satisfied and switched to the other the next time?

Note that I am not interested in anyone's opinion about the fact I am using an in room sitter unless they have actually had something bad happen to them while using one. I am completely comfortable with going out without my kids, and will not respond to people who question my reasons for doing so.

There will be five kids, ages 4-7, and the sitter will be there right before bedtime. Should I let them know that we plan for the kids to sleep to avoid them bring all kinds of toys the kids will want to play with?

I use FG, which is a smaller company with fewer choices of sitters, so that might be a factor. You want the right match since you'll have several kids.

With five kids, will there only be one sitter? Kids Nite Out has a web site, so you can go online and check their rules. At some number of kids, sitting services require more than one sitter, I believe.

We were very happy with Fairy Godmothers.

You should check though, 'cause you might need two sitters. It's been awhile, so I can't remember what the 'rule' was.

I don't remember a lot of toys. Just a bag of things;nothing big. Is it an obvious bedtime, like 9 o'clock? If it's early, like 7, you might mention that you'll be putting them to bed.

my family has used kids nite out accouple of times & has been happy with the service. the ladies have all been nice, brought toys, got them ready for bed, etc. its nice to have some adult only time.

We used FGM in September and was pleased. Ms. Vivian (who is a Grandmother) came a little early to meet the kids and ask us questions. We were on vacation with another couple, so she watched 2 girls - 4 and 2 boys - 2. The girls told us the next morning that they wanted Ms. Vivian to come back that night because they had so much fun with her. The boys seemed to do ok with her too.

When we were looking into a sitting service at Disney, some fellow DIS'ers recommended Vivian or Vera from FGM. And I can see why Vivian was one of their choices!
