Ok is this ok to get? Was tempted to get it to pay for our disney wedding as the rate is so good.

How long does it take to get the card sent through??

Hi,
This is a great card(todays rate is $1.9775-it changes a few times a day),quite a few people on here have it or are going to get it.I applied+ordered mine on a Monday and had gotten my card within a week, then my pin number got sent thru 2 days after that.I don't know how to post links but look on this board for the thread titled--pre paid charge card there are some views on there about this card. It's on the first page.x.

yes foudn it after i posted this thread! I skimed through but missed it first time.

Thanks

Very tempted by the good rate at the moment and saves us heaps as at the moment we transfer to a $ account in florida

It's just gone up to $1.9800:thumbsup2 .Would deffinatley help you out with you're upcoming wedding-ooh not long to go now.x.

i thought 1.9750 was good this morning!! now i'm certiainly getting it!!!

just purchased it 1.98 is a great rate!

Excellent, make sure you don't delete the emails they will send you thru pretty soon. One of them contains your authorisation code which you need to activate your card,we printed the email just in case, any messages got deleted by mistake.x.

i got one but it was blank!! it says fairfx registration confirmation but the body is empty

Hi guys,

I haven't heard of a fairfx card before.

I've just taken a look at the website but could someone here please explain how it works to me?

Thanks

Craig

It is a Chip+Pin Mastercard.A pre-paid charge card.
There is no charge to use it abroad. No hidden charges once you return home. There is a charge of $2 if you want take cash from an ATM over there(but if you take some cash with you as well, you should'nt have to).The card lasts 3 years,so if you come home and still have cash on the card, then you can either 'cash it out' but there is a £10 fee.Or leave it on your card until your next trip.If your card expires before your next trip just renew it+they will transfer the money over.
If you apply for a card and your amount is under £500,there is a £9.95 Fee.If more than £500 then no fee.Any other top ups you want to do,are a minium of £20 no charge.
I like this card as you get the rate that is advertised on there website+your dollars go straight on your card. Then say 3 months later you want to put more on,then you will get that days rate.
You can always check your balance online from here or abroad.I am no expert but any other questions and i will try my best and help you.x.

Hi,
Same thing happened to us(sorry i should have mentioned that),hubby had to change the filters on blocking junk mail to a lower setting for us to receive them properly. Also check your junk mail box.x.

You're doing me out of a job here Michelle. ;) :lmao:

Dad and I got a FairFX card each last year. We used them all over Orlando and had no problems at all so I would definitely recommend them. As Michelle says the beauty is you can top up as and when the rate is good and if it goes down so what.

Sorry David :goodvibes .We should go into partnership+get a cut from them with all the advertising were doing:thumbsup2 .x.

What I like about the card is that the rate you buy at is what you get, and if it goes up you can put some more money on it. I'm not bothered about the £10 charge to get my money off the card as any money left on it will do for my 2009 land/sea Disney holiday.

All my thoughts exactly, whatevers left-if any :rotfl2: on the card, were not going to 'cash in' ,it will do us for our for our next trip.(hopefully Christmas 2010).x.

I tried to get one of these cards today, but they won't accept my BFPO address, which is really annoying as it is classed as a standard UK address, and all of my other banking and billing comes through it fine
I have emailed them to see if there is an alternative solution as I really like the idea of prepaying and being able to relax a bit......
Joys of being an Army wife, can't even get flipping holiday spending money
