My husband and I are debating switching from HoJo to Fairfield Inn for our trip in February in order to save a few hundred dollars. All we need is a clean room, comfy enough beds and the ability to get a good night sleep. Nothing fancy! Any pros and cons to staying here would really help me make the final choice!

I've never stayed at the HOJO so I can't really compare the two but we stayed at the Fairfield Inn last January and it was decent- nothing fancy but it was nice, clean, and the staff was very friendly. We had no issues and I would stay there again.

We have never stayed at HoJo’s but have stayed at Fairfield often and we like it. It’s a bit closer so that’s a good thing. Rooms are in good condition and we have never really noticed noise from adjoining rooms.

I have stayed at hojos, & will be staying there again in January 2018 but havent stayed at Fairfield Inn. I got a cheaper rate for HOJOS then Fairfield Inn.:confused3

Stayed there two years ago and it was serviceable if all you want is a clean room and being left alone. Closer to the park with Panera Bread and Pizza Press right next door. I'd save the money unless you need a wonderful water park at HoJo.

We've stayed at both and have Fairfield booked for May. It's a little closer, better access to different restaurants and we've got from being a family with kids to being a family with our only child on the trip being 18. We don't need the water parks (or even a pool), just want a decent bed and saving the bit in distance is worth to me. Honestly, I'd go with whichever one is cheaper.

We booked through WD Travel so we could make payments on it, and went with Fairfield over Hojo also because I can choose the premium view room for Fairfield using a package, but I can't choose room type at Hojo.

Just stayed st Fairfield the end of September. They have done some renovations. Vinyl flooring instead of carpet and the sink area has been nicely updated along with a sliding door for privacy. Also a new mural behind the beds. Have stayed here at least 15 times and have always had great service and clean rooms

Pizza Press has since moved aways down the street.

If I am not on site I am at the Courtyard or FFI...it is as I like to say predictably mediocre. Nice, clean, a bit older rooms with some recent superficial renovations...but being a bit of a hotel snob, it fits the bill quite nicely for the requirements of a bed and shower. Nothing special but the property is up to the Marriott brand standards even though FFI is on the lower end of their line.

If it is savings of hundreds...no question book the FFI IMO. Closer walk.

I've never stayed at HOJO, but I've stayed at FFI a few times. The rooms were updated recently, I've always had good customer service here. Things I like: The lobby has pictures of Disneyland, I like the infused water available in the lobby, the staff is helpful, bathrooms have the sink separate from the bathroom. We've never used the pool but it is fairly decent considering it's attached to the parking lot.
My only con here is that the walkways outside the rooms are LOUD. We always use ear plugs or a sound machine app so that people walking by our room don't wake us up. It takes my 2 kids and I six minutes to walk to security. This is my go-to hotel when I go alone with my kids!

We checked out of the Fairfield yesterday (first stay) after staying at Hojos about a dozen times. The primary difference between the 2 is the indoor hallways- Hojos has them, Fairfield doesn't. Hojos also has a water play area for kids. Fairfield on the other hand is a bit closer, which comes in handy since the area around Harbor has really seen a huge increase in the homeless population.

FFI is our go-to off-property hotel because we can usual get a good price (if you have AAA they offer an extra discount) and we collect Marriott points. One perk that has not been mentioned for FFI is if you book an upper floor, theme-park facing room you get a very nice view of the fireworks.

We have stayed at both and I’d definitely change to FFI if it’s still possible. The room updates are nice and as it’s closer, it made a huge difference for us. On our last trip at HOJO our room was at the back of the property, which added a lot of walking effort and time after a long day. This isn’t a big deal for some people but in my mind, it just made for a miserable finish to the day. If all you need it clean and comfortable, then the FFI will deliver that and more.

Even if you do not have a fireworks view room, since it is all outdoor walkways you can go to the end of each walkway and hang outside also for a great fireworks view from each floor.

Thanks guys! We booked FFI through AAA and saved about $400!!!

We just spent 6 days 5 nights at the Fairfield for the first time time, and we were pleasantly surprised. Clean updated rooms, with a bit of a Disney vibe, plus the on site dining and Panera and McDonalds right there made for an nice stay. If you arrive before 4:00, however, the hotel will try to up sell you on early check in for additional $50.00. We declined, and were texted our room was ready at around 2:30. They will store your luggage. It’s a short walk to security!

FFI used to be adequate, but they did renovations and it's much nicer and more on par with "normal" Fairfield inns. No breakfast though.
