There are 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) traveling mid June and will be staying for 5 nights. I originally booked at BW Anaheim inn with a pretty decent rate for summer. Periodically, I check for any specials and through LMT, was able to find a slightly cheaper (~$20) rate for a high-floor room at Fairfield Inn. So booked that too.

I have stayed at both hotels and will be happy with either, I just can't make up my mind which one to cancel!

We are normally park warriors and spend no very little time in hotel. We'll only have a car for one day (and hoping we can ditch it before we need to park it), otherwise, no parking needed.

For same price, which would you do? Would we be better off at BW as it is smaller and maybe we'll be able to get in/out of hotel faster/less walking? But FFI is slightly better quality? I am Marriott/SPG member but don't think I'll earn any points due to the discount booking so that reason is out.

Any reason you would choose one over the other?

I’ve never stayed at the BW but the FFI is my go to when I want cheap and close. The rooms are nice since the upgrade, the pool is decent, and the staff are great! I do use a sound machine app here due to the outdoor corridor walkways.

I know the Fairfield Inn has been recently refreshed, but between the two I would pick the Best Western Anaheim Inn. The Best Western has a free breakfast that is fairly substantial. Also, the Best Western rooms will be slightly larger. The Fairfield Inn rooms are 227 sq ft while the Best Western rooms are 275 sq ft. Not a huge difference, but I will take a bit more space whenever I can get it. You also point out another good aspect of the Best Western which is the size. It'll be faster to get out of your room in the morning at the Best Western since it's not as large as the Fairfield Inn. Since you booked a premium room at Fairfield this will be on the upper floors, which will require going down a lot of stairs or using the elevator.

Just my 2 cents, but both are decent options.

FFI is one of my Go-To's when off site. Nice and clean.

One cool thing about the FFI is that there are outside corridors that wrap all around the building on all the floors and you can stand outside and watch the firework

I would also probably lean towards the Best Western because of the location and the breakfast (included in the price). While the breakfast isn't anything special, it does save you a little money because you don't have to buy anything in the parks. I didn't think the room sizes were really that different (either should be fine for a family of three). So all other things considered, I'd go with the BW Anaheim Inn.

Thanks for all your replies! Ha ha, I am no closer to deciding as everyone brought up the same points I've been debating in my head!!
1. Both equal distance to parks
2. FFI slightly nicer rooms / nicer pool, possibly more time getting in/out
3. BW has free breakfast and easier in/out, larger rooms

Like I said, I know I'll be happy with either one! I guess it really will come down to coin toss. In any event, I'm just happy to get to go to DL!!!

Does anyone know the car parking fee for BW Anaheim? FFI it is $19/day.

Try to pick what’s most important to you. If it’s saving money, go with BW. If it’s updated rooms, go with FFI. I’m sure you can always request a room closer to the elevators so that you can minimize your walking time if you choose FFI.

Yes, it is a true toss up. FFI is actually cheaper which I find ironic!

So for me, I would chose the FFI. Updated rooms are important to me. That would sway my decision. We are typically park warriors too but every great once in a while we’ll use the pool. Another vote for FFI here as their pool is decent. With only 3 people to a room the FFI rooms are plenty big. Book a king and the kid can sleep on the pull out chair. Now you have more floor space in your room too. Pick what is most important to you and use that too make a decision.
