Has Anyone stayed at the Fairfield on Harbor recently? I am looking for feedback good, bad or indifferent......................Thanks

I stayed at the Fairfield about 2 years ago and really liked it. In fact I had originally booked it again for my upcoming trip but then the HOJO rate came out and I switched.
The room was big enough, well lit and well designed. I was not bothered by noise
The staff was courteous, and the little mini market onsite very handy.

Mind you, we were two adults traveling and so the walk did not bother us.

There were only two drawbacks as far as I could tell: First, we'd taken a shuttle from the airport and it drops you by the curb when the Fairfair is set far back from the street. I felt a bit foolish schlepping my luggage.

And secondly: The pool was small and smack dab in the middle of the parking lot. It looked very uninviting (for adults), but if I had little kids I don't think they would have noticed or minded.

I was there last month and got to stay in one of the refurbished rooms - Mickey theme. Most everything in the room is new. It has brand-new carpeting, shower surround, mattress, furniture, sleeper sofa, and a large flat-screen tv. :) Fridge is the same, lol. Also, I've stayed several times before over the past few years. Traveling as an adult-only group, it's always been a great place to stay. Even the older rooms were fine, they were clean and comfortable.

They are doing renovations still, so if you stay and need afternoon downtime naps, just ask for a room away from their work areas. We stayed near some of the work and we could hear hammers/drills and some bumping, but it was relatively infrequent and since it was only during the daytime, it didn't bother us.

They've added a Seattle's Best coffee place on the 3rd floor, so it's an option for those who don't want the in-room brew or McDonalds (which is a 1-minute walk across the parking lot).

The pool is small but very clean, with a separate hot tub.

rosiep - I'm sorry the shuttle didn't take you to the door. We've done the shuttle for all our FFI stays and never were dropped curbside.

The bed is very comfortable! :thumbsup2

We're going back this December and are staying at the HOJO. Only reason is the Entertainment Rate. If it wasn't available, we'd be at the FFI again. :)

One thing extra to add: I've heard a lot of complaints about the height of the showerhead fixture (too low). In the refurbished rooms, it's adjusted to normal height so tall people will be happy. :thumbsup2

I thought it was very odd. The driver actual said they weren't allowed to use the driveway! ....Guess he was just in a hurry. At least he stopped the car to let me out. :lmao:

and I guess that Hojo rate really works!

I call BS on that one. lol! That's what the roundabout at the front door is for! Taxis, shuttles, and drop-offs all go there. Did your driver stop on Harbor??? Glad he stopped, since a slow down and rollout (complete with luggage ejection from the rear) seems to be the rage nowadays. :lmao:

I think he only stopped for the tip...;)

(yes, he stopped on Harbour)

My family of 5 has stayed there 3 times & we've been perfectly happy with it. The pizza hut is real handy too! Our only complaint, having nothing to do with the hotel itself, is the walk back to the hotel after a long day in the parks. I always say the walk to the parks in the morning is a breeze......different story at the end of the day.
I didn't realize they were refurbishing the rooms. We will most likely stay there again, although we are going to try the BWPPI this summer for the short walk.

Thanks to Everyone for the great info:thumbsup2 Nice to know that the rooms just got Refurbed:goodvibes
