Fairfield Bonnet Creek - bus service?

Can anyone tell me what the bus service is like to/from Fairfield Bonnet Creek to the parks? I read on one thread that the bus service is only to the Transportation & Ticket Center. Is this true? And how often does the bus come to the resort?

I don't know about that specific hotel, but that would be consistent with other off-site hotels.

You might call the resort directly. I don't see anything on their website. People have posted drop off at TTC, where you can get Disney transportation to the other parks, but pickup at all 4 parks. I'm not sure if the bus transporation is even free, most timeshare places charge.

Bicker--This property is unique. It sits on land Disney was unable to buy. It is surrounded by Disney land on 3 sides and I-4 on the other side. It's behind CBR and POP. Disney had to grant them a right of way, the entrance is actually on Lake Buena Visa Drive.

When we went on a Fairfield tour locally, and they told us about this land (it was being built at the time),they told us it was land Disney decided they didn't have to buy, since it was swampy and landlocked. Why would they have been unable to buy it, yet Fairfield was? Just curious.

I was told (on the Bonnet Creek tour) that an old man had owned it back when Walt was buying up land and that he didn't want to sell. Walt wasn't paying much 'before'. Then Fairfiield bought it 'after' so probably paid a small fortune...tho no one specifically said that Fairfield purchased from the old man.

I saw a bus schedule posted on my tour. Maybe 4 times a day. Seems like a car would be most appropriate here, especially since there isn't an onsite restaurant. BTW, I thought the units were large and handsomely decorated! I wouldn't mind staying there sometime EXCEPT I was offered 300,000 points for $2000 that would be deducted from sale price IF I went ahead and bought. 9000 points per night made it tempting! But I sneaked to the front desk and tried to make a ressie 6 months in advance and there was NADA.
So what good are points that you can't use?

I didn't like the presentation..they lied about a few things as timeshare salespeople are want to do, but the front desk staff were great and the layout and rooms were really beautiful. For the same price, I'd stay here before I'd stay at any 'off-site' hotel.

Call to ask about shuttle service to the parks before booking your room. Such service could change as the resort opens more and more rooms. Usually you need to make shuttle bus reservations each day.

Room availability to the general public is different from room availability to those who "bought in" i.e. purchased "weeks" or "memberships" or "points".

The owner at the time Disney bought into Florida must have gotten wind of impending land value appreciation, perhaps advance word that Disney itself was coming. But Disney was able to buy enough land altogether so they didn't bother with that piece.

As far as swampiness goes, the owner who finally develops/developed a piece of land is often required to restore and maintain certain amounts of wetland, green space, etc. One interesting project is the Disney Wilderness Preserve, some 20 miles south of WDW. Disney, in order to meet certain green space requirements, was permitted to establish green space / wetland in this multi-hundred acre tract (which tract later had to be sold to someone else who would maintain it) in exchange for development in the existing WDW, as an alternative to putting the needed restorations and green space on-site. Fairfield may have had similar off site plans to go along with developing the swampy land.
