Fairfax Fare open in HS open today 11-3 with new hot dog menu. I will miss the empanadas! I just saw that the margarita stand in Epcot's Mexico has an empanada that I want to try now. Anyone who has had both, how do they compare?

I just checked out their new menu. Blah...we enjoyed the southwest bowls they previously offered. Hot dogs are not my thing. Will have to find a new place in DHS I guess. WDW site needs to update their picture and description on the landing page as they don't offer "Tasty family favorites star in an ensemble of entrées that also features Latino specialties, our signature salad and kid-friendly sandwiches. Delectable desserts make it a yummy ending every time!" any longer.

I know! I am hugely disappointed by this. They did the same thing to me a few years back with Tortuga Tavern. We had it once and it was rice/nacho bowls. The next time we came, it was hot dogs. I’m just not going to pay $12 for a hot dog! And DHS has so few restaurants to start with.

I was pretty bummed to learn that the bowls are gone at Tortuga Tavern. A taco bowl with that weird cardboard thing of sour cream was a staple on all my previous trips!

We got a hot dog at Fairfax Fare yesterday for lunch from the allergy menu - the BLTA on a gluten free bun. It was loaded with toppings and large enough that hubby and I split it and were very full until dinner.

We are used to splitting meals and we don't typically eat a lot at once so YMMV, but we thought it was really good and really filling.

I still miss the old Tortuga Tavern. :(
