Just looking for some advice. A 50 point contract with my use year at GF is available. What would be a fair price to agree on? I was thinking around $165/p mark?

I tend to think a little differently about small point contracts then most, but 165 seems fair. But if it’s your use year i wouldn’t let say a $10 per point price difference scare me off since you are only talking $500 total.

165 for a small contract should be ok.
I paid mine a bit less recently, but was 100 points.

I totally agree with this, under 100pts the competition is fierce so you can stretch a bit to get exactly what you need

Contracts 100 points and less, when sold on the resale market, don't have any fairness to the price. I have seen people pay almost direct pricing for small point contracts. All you can do is make an offer and hope none else made a better one and you have to make it as soon as you see it. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Not even received login Details on our first contract. 🙈 we only discussed last week that If a 50 GF came up it would be tempting. Seems as though these small contracts in the correct use year are very rare and just don’t know how often they can pop up!

Just wondering why are small contracts so rare and if the price is so close to direct then wouldn’t it just be easier to buy direct as an add on? Unless direct has no availability right? What is the purposes of adding on such a small number of points. Pretty new to this all so just wondering if I would want a small contract in the future!

Because it's a sold out resort, and direct at VGF is actually much higher right now. They are comparing to direct pricing originally when it was being sold as "new" from the DVC. Savings can still be had on resales from direct pricing at current levels.

ETA: I just looked it up, and VGF is currently $255 a point, so even at $175, you are still saving $80 a point off direct pricing, on small 50 points contract, that still $4K in savings.

Great3

The biggest reason they are rare is that the main contracts Disney sells are first contracts (depending on when that could have been anywhere from 100-175 points. Then add on contracts. Of the add on contracts they is a decent amount of variation, but a lot of them were over 100 points also.

Well if someone is not already a DVC member and go to DVC to buy, there is a minimum number of points they must buy, even at the sold out resorts, I think it is 75-100 points, could be 100. If you already are a DVC member you can buy add on contracts, now as low as 25 points for most resorts, CCV and RIV is 50 minimum I believe. For a little bit DVC did allow some very small add on contracts to be sold. I think I saw one for 8 points. But if your not in DVC and want to get in with a small 50 point contract, there really are not many out there, since most resorts had 100, 150, 160 or even 230 buy in minimums. So when you look at it $175 pp for VGF resale or $255 pp direct, neither will give you blue card benefits, so why spend the extra cash. I bet most 25 point contracts were bought for the sole ability to be a blue card member a few years back, it has now been raised to 100 and possibly 125 soon.

That was indeed, very limited and only available to certain purchasers of BLT. It had to do with the reallocation done after BLT was available for sale & before the resort became available for occupancy, but before the reallocation was done. The reallocation messed up the amount of points some buyers calculated they would need for the vacation(s) they had in mid when they purchased BLT. DVD allowed those buyers to buy less than the 25 point minimum for that reason.

Just an update , another 50 pointer appeared and it’s loaded with banked 2020 points. This was via another resale Compan We have had an offer of $160 accepted. Looks like we will be ditching the previous offer. I feel bad for messsing them around but I couldnt predict this. Also $10 cheaper per point difference! !
