Fair AP discount solution

even worst- in my case a few years ago I almost put my brother on my contracts as a co-owner. I didn't and I am very happy I didn't. He declare bankrupty and if I had put him as co-owner (despite him not paying a penny on it) - the courts would have gotten at least half of it.

I am so glad that I didn't do that!!!

That is a great example! Sorry it happened to your brother, but thank you for sharing so we can all learn from it. How financially responsible are our children going to be? Despite our best efforts, they could have financial problems, drug problems, allow people to take advantage of them etc. All put your finances at risk when you co-sign or add them to legally binding contracts. i will not co-sign for my childrens vehicles in the future, I may buy them a vehicle if able, but I will not co-sign. I will put them in our will and they can have it all, but not until I am gone.

Ok, I am confused...
My wife and I are members, but my son (15) and DD (11). Are THEY entitled to the discount, (they do not have blue cards), or is it just DW and I???????????
Thanks!
DeerH

Your children are 1) not adults and 2) live in your immediate household. Yes, under the posted rules they should receive the discount, assuming they are with you at the time of the AP purchase.

CarolM.....Wonderful Idea.....

Why is it that some people see the glass "half empty", while others see it "half full" ????

I just left this topic on 3+ threads:
1 thread has reached 28 pages in 2 days..the others are getting there!!

This is not rocket science:
DVC member discount, 8 household max

Give it up !!!

Be thankful that YOU can afford to have a DVC....

Thank DVC for this GREAT perk....

Be happy for those who can use it....

and NO I can't subscribe to this thread...its too stressful.... when Im supposed to be spreading "pixie dust" !!

Lets get back to other important topics that we can control!!

I just don't think Disney is going to worry about this very much. I expect that they will limit it to just 4 to 8 passes per membership number and eliminate the need to be concerned about who lives where.

Respectfully, I believe that the perk will be short lived if they go that direction. If the perk is going to be offered, I believe the rules are about as well designed as they can be to avoid abuse.

I don't think so. They mention "in the same household" several times in the announcement. They are doing this to prevent members from buying passes for their friends, neighbors, putting them on e-bay. For example, your brother-in-law will not have the same last name or address as you. You could bring a friend and say he's your brother-in-law.
