Just for the record. Yesterday, Michael Moore's movie "Fahrenheit 911" turned 1 month old and it reached a box office of $104 million.

Seemed impossible just a month ago, didn't it? I was laughed and rolleyed at when I said it would.

i think this is worthy of a bump for the db crowd, joeblack. ;)

Yeah, I remember the mocking you took after posting that ::yes::

Hey, I heard Bush was invited to a screening down in Crawford, and Michael Moore is actually going to be introducing the film. Moore said he wanted to thank Bush for starring in the movie, since he seemed to have most of the funniest lines :rotfl:

Ya' think Bush will take him up on it ?

:rolleyes1

Hey, pretty impressive indeed!

I really would like to see this but I've heard there is some very graphic stuff that I wouldn't want to see. Well, I would but I don't think my psyche would make it through without being damaged.

You should definately see it. Everyone should see it. There is some graphic violence and carnage (of Iraqui women and children, mostly) but you could close your eyes for those few minutes and miss it. I had to.

Even if 1/5 of the things in that movie are true, it's pretty scary. I would like to write a letter to that woman in the movie from Flint who lost her son. That broke my heart. :(

I am the biggest wussy sissy squeamish easily upset person you could ever hope to meet. The graphic stuff is absolutely minimal, only requiring a lowering of your head to avoid. If you are worried, wait for the DVD to come out. Personally I find I can handle "icky" scenes better if I can mute the TV....and as a last resort, you can FF.

Well, as much as some folks want to see it that way, War is no video game. It is not as simple as a sports event ("We kicked some butt in Afghanistan or Iraq"). Real fathers, mothers, sons, sisters are killed. Real limbs are lost. Real blood (American or Iraqi) is spilled. The hatred for the perpetrator of the death of a loved one is as intense on either side.

That is why so many people were angered to see the coffins of the American soldiers. That is why so many people are angered at Michael Moore. Because he is showing the people things that are uncomfortable to see or know.

Believe me. The images in Fahrenheit 911, are nothing compared to the real horror. I would post the link to a site with real war images, but last time I did, some people freaked out so much they started a thread on whether those kind of sites should be banned.
