Facebook Valentine Post

What a cruddy situation. The die is cast so either step-mom will get over it or she won't. In any event, YOU felt hurt and you are entitled to say something about it. Frankly, it would have been much worse if you had posted something on FB about it. By speaking to her directly, you have avoided making the situation "public" which would have been much worse.

I think you had the absolute right to explain your feelings to her and you took the moral highroad by not making a very public comment and potentially trashing her to her other FB friends.

Hang in there :grouphug:

Nicole I am so sorry this has happened to you!
If your step mother is going to be that insensitive, well then my advice to you is to do exactly what you have been doing.
I would also make sure your father knows the pain this has caused you.
Keep your chin up! :thumbsup2:hug::hug::hug:

Ouch. I can't believe she did that! Seems like she can be a bit of a Witch.

Glad you have the Dis Boards to vent on!

I'm so sorry! Good for you for taking the high road. Even though it would feel good to stick it to her, trying to let it go will probably be best in the end. I suggest speaking to her "live" if it continues to eat at you. Hang in there. Those of us that have "been there, done that" with our parents know how you must be feeling. :hug:

And even if she was having a bad day it was food for thought. Somewhere between her Farmville playing today she could have very easily changed her status.

I am so mad for you that I could just scream! I can't believe her nerve. I wish I had some great advice for you.

You know, it did not take DH and I much time to realize (and discuss) that most people - his family in particular - have no idea what they should/shouldn't be posting on FB. Do they really want to put their dirty laundry/language/behavior out there for the world to see? I guess your Step Mother doesn't realize it either. Shame on her for not changing it even after something was said.

So sorry you had to see it.

It's amazing. I just got home from having the best 3 hours I could ask for. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard. But, today is my birthday, and my dad probably doesn't have a clue, therefore there was no phone call. I thought maybe he called while I was gone. And, I have to say I am just a bit sad.

This is why men need to know where the Birthdays are marked on the calendar too!!!!!! We have a LARGE fridge calendar with birthdays clearly marked. DH even knows where it is too. ;)

Since we can't wish her away, we can wish for a better day for you, and for her to gain some insight somewhere along the line (ok, a little far-fetched for the last bit, but it COULD happen!)
